ABSTRACTThis guide is designed to provide teachers and reading
tutors with an easy-to-use and practical guide to selecting and using readingassessment tools that (1) provides descriptions of reading assessments forEnglish and Spanish speaking students that can be.used to diagnose andidentify their reading skills and abilities; (2) helps teachers findinstruments that meet their special needs; and (3) encourages the use ofassessments to guide instruction. Each assessment is described on one page,with information on the developers of the assessment, its grade level,purpose, key elements, including time required to administer the assessment,and other considerations.
