Retiree NewsMarch 2011

The World Series trophy commemorating the San Francisco Giants visited in celebration of our highly successful 2011 Campaign for the Community, which raised a record $4.8 million. As part of the visit, Campaign Pinnacle donors were invited to an exclusive photo opportunity with the trophy. Our champion-level Pinnacle donors gave 2 percent or more of their salaries to the 2011 Campaign for the Community. Employees who waited in line to view the trophy got a special treat when the Pinnacle donor photos were completed—they, too, were invited to take their pictures with the trophy.

Thank you! This year’s Campaign for the Community raised a record $4.8 million.

EARTH DAY FUN FACTS

PG&E has contributed more than $1.2 million to fund important maintenance and improvement projects at California parks since our Earth Day partnership began with CSPF. Over the past nine years, PG&E volunteers–employees, retirees and their families and friends–have contributed more than 20,000 volunteer hours’ worth of work. Last year alone, 950 volunteers contributed more than 3,700 hours of volunteer work on Earth Day.

PG&E is committed to environmental leadership and is once again partnering with the California State Parks Foundation (CSPF) as the presenting sponsor of the 2011 Earth Day Restoration and Cleanup. This is the 10th consecutive year that PG&E has partnered with CSPF. Retirees, employees and their friends and families are invited to help improve our Northern and Central California parks and have done so since 2001.
