Ridgewood-Beaucamps French Exchange
Seventeen French students were hosted by Ridge-
wood families in October. They attended classes at
RHS, shadowing their host students throughout the
day, and spent their evenings and weekends with
their American families. They were completely im-
mersed in our school and life in America.
During their stay, the French students attended a
welcome reception, a home football game, and
spent two full days discovering NYC, among other
individual family activities. They explored the Ellis
Island National Museum of Immigration, the Statue
of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, the 911 Memorial,
and toured the United Nations.
This is the second exchange organized by RHS
French teachers Laura Polk and Helene Palumbo. It
gives students the opportunity to learn and em-
brace the different cultural aspects of both coun-
tries.
During April Break 2020, RHS students will go to
Lille, France, for a 10 day immersion experience
with their French friends.

Interdisciplinary Project
Ashley Pollitt and Luke Dolby's 9th grade English classes collaborated with
Linda Chamesian and Alex Escobar’s 11th grade USII classes. After reading Of
Mice and Men, the 9th grade teams presented research on how gender, race,
age, and/or ability may prevent someone from achieving the American
Dream; subsequently, the 11th grade teams drafted progress and reform initi-
atives to confront and raise awareness of different forms of discrimination.

Interactive Design
Mr. Wohner's Interactive Design students built monster skeletons during Hal-
loween. They worked in 2 teams to build the models using digital modeling
tools and 3D scanners to design the parts. Using the 3D printers in the Mak-
erspace they printed the
parts and had a good time
performing some surgery
to get the parts to fit
and move as their time
expired.
RHS DECA
RHS DECA held a Teal Pumpkin Painting event to spread awareness about food
allergies and providing an allergen friendly option for trick or treaters.
