• Older men are a hard group to reach when giving health and wellbeing messages.

• The messages need to be non threatening.

• Health Activities need to be fun and enjoyable.

• Using older men’s lifetime passion for sport in activity and health messages reduces the threat and makes the men more receptive.

• Peer Mentors- CHAMPIONS- make the process easier.

• Using sports organisations and sports governing bodies as partners makes engaging with the older men easier.

• Can be a natural partnership – the skills of your organisation plus the brand, knowledge, enthusiasm of the sporting body.
