Management Skills
Soft Skills: Soft skills are non technical, personality specific skills which are essentially to determine ones strength as a leader
Hard skills: Hard skills are a person's skill set and ability to perform a certain type of task or activity. E.g Workers
Soft skills are personal attributes that enhance an individual's interactions, job performance and career prospects.
Soft skills 1. Interpersonal skills: transferring or conveying of information from
one person to another person or many, it also include the ability to
lead, motivate and delegate people.
2. Team Working: working together in co-operatively manner to
achieve a common objective.
3. Negotiation Skills: Ability to achieve desired outcomes and still
maintain good relationships with each other, maintain win – win
situation.
4. Communication Skills: is an exchange of facts, ideas, opinions or
emotions by two or more persons. Conveying right information to
right person at right time in right way.
5. It determines whether or not selected / promoted in IT job.
6. Time management: manage many things to do in busy schedule.
It can be done by scientific management of time
7. Stress management: ability to cope with stress varies from
person to person. Success in a job depends on ability to handle
work pressure.

until you know yourself, strengths and
weaknesses, you cannot succeed in any
but the most superficial sense of the word

Identifying the internal and external factors that are favorable and
unfavorable to achieving objective set by you.

environment external to the you or organization
Simple: it is simple to operate, understand and practice at both
individual level and organization level
It is scalable –can be used in small domestic plans/ MNC’s
Inclusive – team participation is allowed while preparing SWOT
chart therefore results are realistic
Less Expensive- it can be done internally provided the internal
facilitator has the experience to manage it
It is used in non-profit organizations, such as corporate level,
governmental units and individuals.

Inter Group Communication
Inter group communication means communication
within an organization across different work groups
and teams
Interpersonal communication means transferring or
conveying of information from one person to
another person

Intergroup communication symbolize a form of
interpersonal, interactive, peer-to-peer horizontal

Win-Lose Situations
In this situation one group will win and
the other group will loses.
◦ E.g: conflict between management and
workers union
The negative outcome of win-lose situation are
1. Delay in decision making
2. Decrease in productivity
3. Loose of self interest, commitment
4. Spoil the personal relations
5. Deviate the attention from the goals
Resolved into Win-Win Situation
In this approach both parties/groups have won the situation and established victory.
Both groups are equally happy and will receive rewarding outcomes
Achieving win-win may be difficult but it is possible through
