IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:Registration closes June 1st.
ALL REQUIRED PAPERWORK must be received in the Recreation Office one week after your registration in order for your enrollment to be considered complete.
You must register in person if you are requesting financial assistance or require special payment arrangements. Please contact the Recreation Office at 967-2535 well before the registration date for details and to schedule an appointment.

• Please bring/send all required paperwork to Rye Recreation within one week of your on-line registration. Your registration will not be considered complete until all paperwork has been received. You can:
° Come in to the office. If after hours, you can leave it in the “After Hours Drop Box” located opposite the vending machines on the main level.

° Please make sure your child’s name and a contact phone number are prominent on all documents.
• Birth Certificate/Passport – If you are coming in to the office, you do not need to make a copy; we will simply check it. If you are leaving it in the Drop Box, or mailing or emailing a copy, we will shred it after we check it.
• Proof of Residency – Recent utility or cable bill; contract or lease. Driver’s license is not an acceptable form of proof of current residency. • Copy of child’s immunization record – Please submit the copy from the child’s last doctor visit, even if they have an appointment scheduled in the next couple of months.

Kiddy CampA Summer Of Fun In The Sun

Kiddy Camp is specifically for children ages 3-5 (but not entering kindergarten). It is a 6-week, half-day, classroom based program. Every day the children will participate in free play, story time, songs, outdoor play, art, sports and much more! Special events and entertainment are held weekly to enhance the program. Campers are grouped by age. Camp fee includes a camp t-shirt.

Kiddy Camp has a limited enrollment. Children must be 3 years old by April 30, 2018 and be toilet trained to be eligible (no pull-ups).

Lower Camp offers an active, supervised camp program for children enrolled in grades K-2 as of September 2018. Camp groups are co-ed by grade. Sports, group games, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, and special theme days are just part of the fun planned for these campers. Camp fee includes a camp t-shirt. We strive to maintain a 1:6 counselor to camper ratio with our younger campers and up to 1:8 with our older campers in this camp.

b BEGINNER SWIM: Children enrolled in this program will be taken to Rye Golf Club three times a week for a 30-40 minute swim period. There is limited enrollment in the Beginner Swim program; limits are due to time restrictions and safety regulations as specific staff to camper ratios are mandated by the Department of Health. Registration is on first-come, first-served basis Only 6-week campers are eligible to participate.
Swim days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:00 – 12:00 p.m. Inclement weather and Rye Golf Swim Team meets may affect days

b MAD SCIENCE:
• Grade K: Mad Science of Westchester will come to camp and make a scientist out of your child in no time. Children will be taken out of regularly scheduled activities to participate in this special program. Fee: $40
• Jr. Rocketry (Grades 1 & 2): Have a “blast” as you discover the dynamics of rocket flight. Discuss Isaac Newton and his awesome Laws of Motion. Learn how and why rockets fly as you build your very own model rockets that you will take home at the end of the session. Fee: $40
• Dino Casts (Grade 1 only): Enter the Jurassic age as you create your own velociraptor skeleton replicas. Campers will cast and mount these 24” long models as you learn about these ancient beasts. Fee: $40
• Magical Illusions (Grade 2 only): This program will explore the science of sight and misdirection. Work together with us to create your own special optical devices that change the way you see the world and fool your friends! Fee: $40

b JEWELRY & BEADING WORKSHOP for GIRLS & BOYS: In this engaging, fun, creative and educational 45 minute workshop, campers will construct beautiful 1 beaded summer themed jewelry, plus a 3-D beaded summer wind chime. Everyone will work on a professional design board and choose from a high end selection of crystals, sea glass, ceramics and lead-free charms. Upper Camp is specifically for children enrolled in grades 3-6 as of September 2018. Campers are grouped by gender and grade. This camp program gives campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of trips and programs including sports, games, arts & crafts, indoor rec, a variety of special events, and themed days. Camp fee includes a camp t-shirt. We strive to maintain a 1:8 counselor to camper ratio.

School House Chess: Schoolhouse Chess is devoted to helping kids develop learning and thinking skills by teaching them chess. Chess has been proven to help with logic, memory, analysis, reading, and mathematics, and has even been shown to improve IQ. We teach chess with fun characters and stories that are woven into a logical, step-by- step curriculum that begins with the basic rules and extends through advanced strategies and tactics. Participants will be grouped by ability (Beginner or Advanced). Program dates: July 16, 18 & 19 Fee: $90
Robotics- 3 in 1 ATR: All Terrain Robot: Utilize different track modules and make your robot transform into 3 amazing variations: Forklift, Rover, and Gripper. Using the wired controller, command the robot to move forward, backward, turn, grip and lift. In forklift mode, the ATR is like a mini industrial fork lift, with the ability to lift up to 100g in weight. Program dates: July 23, 25 & 26 Fee: $90
b BRICK KIDS - FUN WITH LEGOS®
We like to have a lot of LEGO® brick fun! Campers will be instructed to create awesome LEGO® brick creations based on the below movie themes.
Incredibles 2: Wednesday, July 11, 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. Fee: $22 We’ll build LEGOtm brick statues of Elastigirl, Mr. Incredible, Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack. Plus we’ll build all of the of those incredible villains you love to hate! Top-secret island with an evil lair AND a volcano? We’re on it! Create the island of Nomanisan and the Omnidroids, all out of LEGO® bricks!
Classic Video Game Characters: Monday, July 30, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Fee: $22 Build all the classic video game characters you love! We’ll build statues of Pikachu, Sonic, and Mario. Plus we’ll create a GIANT Pac-Man board, all out of LEGO® bricks!
b JEWELRY & BEADING WORKSHOP for GIRLS & BOYS: In this professional style, hands-on, creative workshop, campers will construct two artistic projects: a cool summer inspired bracelet and a keychain. Everyone will learn fun techniques and stitches. Campers will work on design boards and choose from high quality beads such as sea glass, crystals, ceramics and more. Come join Rye Recreation and your friends for a fun filled adventure this summer. If you are going into 7th or 8th grade and you’re looking for something exciting to do this summer, Camp 78 is for you! This camp goes on different adventures daily. We have an array of trips and activities planned for this summer. Come build everlasting friends and memories for your 2018 summer vacation. We strive to maintain a 1:8 counselor to camper ratio.

• Requests Received by June 1: If you wish to change weeks, you may do so provided your request is received in writing by June 1 and space is available. If there is no space in the week you wish to transfer to, it will be considered a withdrawal from the original week (subject to the withdrawal fee) and you will be placed on the wait list for the week you desire.
• June 2 and After: Effective June 2, no weeks can be changed. If you no longer wish to be enrolled in original week, it is considered a withdrawal and is subject to the published withdrawal policy (no refund).
