Next week June 21-June 26 Fr Ray will be on vacation. He will be keeping an eye of the loon who has been nesting across the lake. Wish-ing him a week of relaxation.
WELCOME BACK TO MASS We have been awaiting the directives from the bish-op concerning the resumption of public masses but, by “press time”, nothing came. I’m sure they will ar-rive as soon as we’ve sent the bulletin to the printer. Here’s what we know so far: 1. Church capacity: we are allowed to admit 40% of our official church seating. In Franklin, we seat 540 which means we can admit 216; In Tilton, we can seat 200, which means we can admit 80. This is pretty close to the numbers who were coming before the cri-sis. Don’t think we’ll need reservations or to turn peo-ple away. 2. Social distancing is not going away. While members of the same household can sit together, others will have to stay six feet apart. We’ll probably have to mark pews and aisles 3. Music Ministry will resume. Organists and singers can gather in the choir, though they’ll have to distance and maybe follow other restrictions. 4. Movement in church will be restricted: no col-lection basket, no entrance or offertory procession, no gathering before or after Mass, no socials or edu-cation sessions. 5. Hygiene: Hand Sanitizer readily available. Symptoms of Covid-19 displayed, those ill or vulner-able urged to stay home. Other requirements will be posted on our website and Facebook when they are available. We’ll print them here next weekend.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK WHO IS YOUR GOD? All of us serve a “God”. Who or what it is varies, but we all have a top priority, that gives meaning and direction to our lives. It could be our-selves, a spouse, a child, a friend or relative, our job or career, a favorite possession or even a noble cause like the environment or peace on earth. Jesus came among us with a specific task: to show us who this God should be. He talks of an all-powerful, all-loving, unconditional-ly forgiving being who chooses to reveal himself to us as three distinct persons so that we can better appreciate His awesome attributes. First, a generous, compassion-ate Father who is obsessed with helping us realize our full potential. Also, a loving Son who came down to our level not only to acquaint us with God but to help us de-velop an intimate relationship with our Creator and most generous benefactor. And also, a guiding Holy Spirit, who wants to help us through the varied adventures of our life so that we get to like God more and get to be
more like God each day. For those who have gotten the “message”, priorities have changed. They no longer obsess over the things that used to be so important. They no longer see themselves as the center of their universe. They no longer see change as a type of poi-son. They want to become like this GOD they have come to know and appreciate. They look at the virtues in their life and want to enhance them, bringing them to a level that honors God’s attributes. They look at their faults and weaknesses and want to eradicate them be-cause these flaws impede their progress and contradict their life’s goal. They look at other people and try to see them as God does: everyone is made in His image, lov-able and capable of loving, gifted and capable of doing great things. And they try to do what God does, which they know will honor God the most. They give of them-selves to help others have a better life and they do what they can to help them discover why this God should be their God too.

BEING THERE FOR EACH OTHER Just because we are adhering to social distanc-ing does not mean that we need to neglect our neighbors. There is a lot we can do for others
and still maintain a safe distance. * Check on your elderly neighbors, see if you can help by doing their grocery shopping, getting their mail or newspa-per, prescriptions, etc.; * Maybe you can drop off a meal or share some cookies or other treat; * Send food or gift cards to someone who has lost their job. Care for their children so they can get a break. * Help with yard work or Spring cleaning.
Home visits: we plan on resuming visits to the homebound this week. If you are not yet comforta-ble coming to church because of age or illness, please let us know. It would be a privilege to bring our Eucharistic Lord to your home. Deacon Tom is planning on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Father Ray on Tuesdays. Just call the office (934-5013) and leave a message.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS Because of the pandemic, our religious education pro-gram ended rather abruptly and left us with a lot of “unfinished business”. Mary Ellen Shaw is retiring after many, many years of devoted service to our children and our faith community. We hope to show her our appreciation once this pandem-ic has passed. Christine Dzujna has graciously accepted to be our new Religious Education Coordinator. Christine has been very involved in Paul Smith School as well as in the reli-gious formation programs both here and in her previous parish. Welcome aboard! Tishie Skaff: our youth minister is moving her office to the Boutin Center so she can work more closely with Christine. Confirmation: We have sent a letter to the bishop re-questing Confirmation in the fall. When we have a date, we can schedule refresher classes and a practice.
