The proposed amendment would:
• End the partisan process for drawingcongressional districts, and replace it witha process with the goals of promotingbipartisanship, keeping local communitiestogether, and having district boundariesthat are more compact.
• Ensure a transparent process byrequiring public hearings and allowingpublic submission of proposed plans.
• Require the General Assembly or theOhio Redistricting Commission to adoptnew congressional districts by a bipartisanvote for the plan to be effective for the full10-year period.
• Require that if a plan is adopted by theGeneral Assembly without significantbipartisan support, it cannot be effectivefor the entire 10-year period and mustcomply with explicit anti-gerrymanderingrequirements.
If passed, the amendment will becomeeffective immediately.

• Require the General Assembly or theOhio Redistricting Commission to adoptnew congressional districts by a bipartisanvote for the plan to be effective for the full10-year period.
• Require that if a plan is adopted by theGeneral Assembly without significantbipartisan support, it cannot be effectivefor the entire 10-year period and mustcomply with explicit anti-gerrymanderingrequirements.
If passed, the amendment will becomeeffective immediately.
