• Skills– £15bn Regional GVA productivity gap against the UK average

• Jobs– Global economy jobs, fit for the future – Region’s unemployment rate currently 9%

• Carbon– 80% reduction in UK greenhouse gas by 2050; 34% reduction by 2020

Transport in the West Midlands

• Car ownership rising – 47 cars per 100 residents

• However 60% of households in Aston do not have access to a car

• 7 million trips everyday
