SECURISYNC DESKTOP APPLICATION
FIRST TIME INSTALLATION SecuriSync client should be downloaded to each machine on which it needs to be installed. A simple installation sequence can be followed to install the software. SecuriSync depends on .Net and so the installer will install .Net if it is not already available on the machine.
UPGRADE The best practice for client upgrades is to perform an in-place upgrade, which means that the new version of the desktop client should be installed on top of the old installation. Old client should NOT be uninstalled.
SECURISYNC FOLDER When SecuriSync is installed on a computer, it creates a designated “sync” folder called My SecuriSync in Documents
and adds it to Favorites in Windows Explorer. All files and folders added to My SecuriSync folder are automatically
synced to the cloud and all of user’s other computers running SecuriSync, and are available for access via mobile apps
and SecuriSync web interface.
Files and Folders can be moved to My SecuriSync using standard file/folder operations: copy/cut-paste or drag-and-
drop.

other devices) by choosing SecuriSync in the Favorites section of the Save As dialog.
SECURISYNC IN THE SYSTEM TRAY SecuriSync runs in the system tray. SecuriSync icon states indicate current SecuriSync status.
Double-clicking on the SecuriSync system tray icon will open the sync folder and give you a quick access to your
“Synced” files.

Browse in My Services (only available for folders)
Manage Sharing (only available for folders you own)
Send Link (only available for folders you own)
Show previous versions (only available for files)
Each option redirects to SecuriSync web. Please find several examples below.

800-379-7729
“sync” status icons
“share” status icons
‘Sync’ status icons show the user whether a file or a folder in their My SecuriSync folder is up to date.
Folder/File content is up to date. (e.g. all updates to files made by collaborators have been synchronized
to the desktop)
Folder/File content is currently being synchronized. (e.g. updates to files made by collaborators are
synchronized to the desktop)
‘Share’ status icons show the user whether a folder is private or shared as well as the type of access permission
the user has.
Folder is shared with other collaborators and user either owns the folder or has ‘modify’
permissions (e.g. user can view, edit, move, delete files)
Folder is shared by another collaborator and user has ‘view’-only permissions (e.g. user
can view, but CANNOT edit, move, delete files)
Folder is private (i.e. NOT shared) and owned by the user. (e.g. user has full ‘owner’
permissions on the folder)

SHARE CONTENT WITH COLLABORATORS USING SECURISYNC
SHARE INTERNALLY Internal Sharing can be performed via SecuriSync web interface or SecuriSync Desktop client. You can select “Share Internally” in the context Menu of any top-level folder (that you own) inside the “My SecuriSync” folder; this action will redirect you to SecuriSync Web and allow you to configure sharing options.
800-379-7729
SecuriSync Web Access:
1. Select “Share Internally” next to folder that you’d like to share
2. Select co-workers that you’d like to share folder with. As you start typing the collaborator’s names, SecuriSync
Sharing dialog will auto-complete the names for you.
3. Select Permissions: View, Modify or Co-Owner:
“View” permission allows collaborators to ONLY view content in shared folders; any changes made to
content will remain on the local machine and will not be synchronized with other collaborators
“Modify” permission allows collaborators to view, modify and delete content in shared folders; all
changes will be synchronized to your “My SecuriSync” folder
“Co-owner” permission allows collaborators to re-share folders with access permissions, share
files/folders as web links, and permanently delete files, in addition to all the features provided by the
“Modify” permission.
800-379-7729
4. Review the status of your sharing request, stop sharing, change permissions, and re-invite co-workers in case they
forgot to reply or did not receive your invitation.
Once they are given sharing permissions on a particular folder, your co-workers will receive an email notification. In
order to begin sharing, your co-workers need to accept the sharing request.
Email notifications contain a link that will redirect recipients to the SecuriSync Web portal where they can accept
sharing requests. Once an invitation is accepted all shared content will be synchronized to their devices running
SecuriSync.
Note: if users don’t have SecuriSync enabled, they will be prompted to first enable it and then install it.

SecuriSync Sub-Folder Sharing:
SecuriSync allows you to share any folder with your collaborators
You can share a top-level folder:
o This action will, in turn, share all the subfolders in that top-level folder as well.
o All collaborators invited to a share of the top-level folder will inherit those same permissions on all
subfolders.
o Collaborators will see the shared top-level folder as a top-level folder in their SecuriSync environment.
You can share any sub-folder:
o If any of the parent folders have already been shared, those same collaborators will automatically have
access to this subfolder, and they cannot be removed. New users can be added to the share as per the
user’s requirements.
o If none of the parent folders have been shared, the subfolder can be shared with any set of users.
o Collaborators will see the shared subfolder as a top-level folder in their SecuriSync environment.
Folder re-sharing is not available: if you share folder with someone, he/she will not be able to share it with
someone else (coming soon)
Limitations:
Internal Sharing is only available between users on one account
You cannot remove collaborators who have inherited permissions to a subfolder (by participating in sharing of
one of the parent folders). You can only add new collaborators.
Re-sharing is not available: if you share folder with someone, he/she will not be able to share it with someone
else (coming soon)
SEND LINK
Send link functionality provides the following features:
Quickly and securely share large files or folders with anyone (e.g. share documents which are too large to share
via email)
Make content available in download-only mode
Use our integrated “email link” functionality to send link or just copy/paste links into IM, email, and SMS
clients
Share files with users outside of your organization, who do not have SecuriSync installed. (i.e. Recipients do
not need to download/install the client as files are made available to them via the Web Interface)
To Share File/Folder as a link, select it in your Windows Explorer and choose “Send Link”. You will be redirected to
the Web portal where you can generate and send the link.
800-379-7729
Or select file/folder in Web Interface and select “Send Link” option in dropdown:
You can password-protect a link before copying it and sending to someone. If link is password-protected, they will be
asked to enter a password, before being able to view and download the content.
800-379-7729
ACTIVITY FEED Activity Feed allows a user to view all recent activity on their private and shared folders.
Events can be filtered by Event type and date range.
800-379-7729
Search allows users to search by specific file, folder and collaborator names.
800-379-7729
FILE MANGEMENT
SECURISYNC RECYCLE BIN - ‘SHOW DELETED FILES”
‘Show Deleted Files’ allows a user to view all deleted files on their account. Deleted Files and Folder have a distinct grayed out icon. Actions menu allows a user to permanently delete a file/folder as well as to restore a file/folder. Only the owner of the file/folder can restore and permanently delete a file or a folder.
VERSIONING
Versioning provides the full history of changes to a file. It allows a user to trace back to an older state of a file by
opening a past version. It also allows one to restore a past version to the current/latest version of a file.
FILE LOCKING
SecuriSync allows collaborators to lock a file for exclusive editing rights to that file. When you lock a file, you
are the only collaborator that can make changes to that file.
800-379-7729
If another collaborator needs to make changes to a file and the file is still locked by you, they can submit an
“unlock” request. Once a file is unlocked, your collaborators can start contributing to the file.
FEEDBACK
Feedback mechanism is accessible from each SecuriSync interface and it allows you to provide genuine
feedback on the product and help shape the SecuriSync roadmap.

OFFICE AND OUTLOOK PLUGINS
HOW TO ENABLE THE PLUGINS:
Outlook and Office plugins are not enabled by default
In order to enable them on your PC, click on the appropriate actions in the SecuriSync system tray context menu (below)
Outlook and Office will need to be restarted for the plugin to be activated.
Office and Outlook plugins authenticate via the SecuriSync desktop client, so as long as you have it running, plugins will be ready to for use.
MICROSOFT OFFICE PLUGIN:
For New files or files that are not located in SecuriSync, the plugin provides a highly visible Save to SecuriSync option
For files located in SecuriSync, the plugin will provide valuable context in the toggle-able panel, including:
o File location in SecuriSync; ability to quickly copy/paste file location into an email to collaborators
800-379-7729
o File Size + Access Permissions o Ability to Share a file as a web link o Ability to lock a file for exclusive editing rights (to make sure no-one is making changes at the
same time as you) o View and Open past versions of a file
Microsoft Outlook Plugin:
Outlook plugin will allow users to replace their attachments with web links pointing to files in
SecuriSync. This is useful when sharing large files over email, and especially so if attachments are larger
than the max limit imposed by Exchange.
Settings Menu: Users can configure the attachment replacement policy based on file size, password protect
the web links, and choose to be prompted for approval every time the plugin replaces files with links.
800-379-7729
You can continue to use the standard Outlook Attach File button to attach files. SecuriSync will only replace
files with links if attachment policy requirements are met.
You also have an option to attach files using Attach with SecuriSync menu. All attachments added this way
will be replaced with links.
In an effort to emulate standard email experience, when recipients click on a file, files will immediately
download from SS Web.
