Guiding Principles for
allocation of Sec 3 subjects
o To enable all students to be given subjects
that will allow and prepare them to progress
to the next higher level, that is, JC, CI,
Polytechnic and ITE (Higher Nitec, Nitec)
o Based on students’ ability (appropriate level
of challenge), aptitude, interest and
aspirations for post-secondary education
o Based on school resources and students’
take-up rate (viable size).
