The New Space-Saving, GloballyListed Series G Line of MCCBsCovers 15 through 2500 Amperes
From the Inventor and WorldLeader in Molded Case CircuitBreakers — the Series G GlobalLine of MCCBs
Designed for OEMs serving domesticand export markets, “global”Series G Molded Case Circuit Breakers(MCCBs) have ULT, CSAT, IEC,CCC, CE and Kema Keur markingson all frame sizes through 2500amperes. Newly designed EG, JGand LG Frames offer OEM-friendlyaccessories, space-saving footprints, advancements in electronic trip units, and demanding distribution panelperformance. The NG and RG Framesare based on the proven Series CTND and RD MCCBs with new globalmarkings and metric threadingfor line and load conductors.
Advantages of the Series G Offering
Panel Space and Design Savings
Advancements in arc interruption allowhigh performance in smaller sizes.■ 1/3 less panel space is needed for
new Series G Frames up through630 amperes (compared to Series Cand most competitive offerings).
■ Only five frames are needed tocover all current ranges through2500 amperes.
Less Inventory and Expediting
The Series G offering is designed tosimplify how OEMs buy breakers.■ Common internal accessories —
The same UVRs, shunt trips andauxiliary contacts are used on EG,JG and LG breakers (15 through630 amperes). No more stockingand expediting accessories foreach breaker frame.
■ Global ratings — CSA C22.2 No. 5,UL 489, IEC 60947-2, CCC, CE andKema Keur markings are includedon Series G labels. No morestocking/expediting breakersfor the export market.
■ No rating plugs for electronictrip units — JG and LG MCCBs(20 through 630 amperes) useonly three-to-four interchange-able electronic trip units to coverall current ranges.
Faster Startup and Less Downtime
Series G accessories take lessinstallation time and money than thoseof alternative MCCBs. Their electronictrip units and ground fault modulesreduce the risk of equipment failure.■ Field-installable internal
accessories on all frames.■ World-class external accessories:
plug-in blocks, flexible shaft androtary handle mechanisms, multiple conductor lugs, finger-safe shields, electrical operators,lock-offs and other accessories aredesigned for fast OEM installation.
■ Easy-to-use dials adjust settingson electronic trip units. Tamper-resistant covers inhibit inadvertentadjustments of trip unit settings.
■ UL/CSA-listed 30 mA earth leakage
modules — For less installed costthan a ground fault relay system,30 mA, field-installable ground faultmodules allow precise ground faultcoordination while reducing the riskof injury and equipment damagefrom grounding problems.
■ Built-in ground fault from 20amperes — The JG MCCB cancover ground fault applications from20 through 250 amperes; largerframes cover up to 2500 amperes.
■ Improved coordination — Digitrip310+ electronic trip units are builtto work in the most extremeconditions and applications. Theirhigher instantaneous pickup (14X)prevents nuisance tripping in highinrush applications, yet they areprecise enough to work in highlycoordinated systems with a “2X”setting to prevent widespreadoutages of power.
