My goal is to provide an overview of the scope, deliverables and plans for the NORSOK Z-
TI JIP. I will also try to clarify what we need from you towards a possible kick-off.

To minimise risk and keep momentum, the project will be executed in three phases

DNV GL’s “Multiparty Project Agreement” is the contractual basis
▪ Customised to be aligned with the Sector Board
Petroleum’s intentions for the NORSOK Z-TI project
▪ The principles are approved by an Interim Steering Group
appointed by the Sector Board Petroleum, and any
amendments will only be entered into in exceptional cases
▪ The intention is that all parties shall sign identical

Key stakeholders have agreed to key principles regarding deliverables and IPR
The right to exploit the project results will be governed by the following
general principle:
1. The NORSOK owners represented by Standards Norway have exclusive
rights to exploit project results that reflect what is currently the content of
the NORSOK Z-TI standards.
2. Generic final deliverables, in particular methodology and generic
ontologies, shall be released for use, distribution and further development
and commercialisation once the JIP/Z-TI has finished, subject to "adequate"
license terms safeguarding the purpose of the project.

Regarding background IP, owners of deliverables and user rights
▪ Any input IPR remains with the originators and only materials developed as part of
the JIP will be regarded as deliverables.
▪ JIP deliverables must have designated owners (one owner per deliverable)
▪ All members of the JIP will have full access to input, work-in-progress materials and
deliverables during the JIP as part of the JIP execution.
▪ Upon completion of the JIP all members will be granted user rights to the
deliverables at given conditions reflecting JIP participation.
▪ Business/governance models as developed in the JIP will regulate terms and
conditions for the deliverables after completion of the JIP.
