Introduction

Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services provides a powerful toolset for organizing information, managingdocuments, and providing effective collaboration environments, all within a single Web-basedenvironment that integrates easily with desktop applications such as Microsoft Office. Nimbus Partnershave developed a solution that integrates Nimbus Control Web Server functionality into a SharePointsite, thereby providing users with access to all of the Nimbus Control Web Server functionality through aSharePoint environment.

Access to Control data through SharePoint is controlled by the same user group privileges as in the Homepage view in the classic Web Server, as defined in the Control client. For example, if reports are disabledfor a particular user group, the users within that group will be unable to view reports through theSharePoint interface.

Note: Viewer licenses do not exist in SharePoint.

A SharePoint site can be customized in many different ways; the table below lists a summary of what'scovered in this guide.

Themes

Apply a theme

A theme is a unified set of design elements and color schemes that give the pages an attractive, consistent appearance.

A theme affects all aspects of the page's appearance, including the following:

Colors. Color schemes set the color of body text, headings, hyperlinks, banner text, link bar labels, table borders, and the page background. Choose between a normal or vivid color set.

Graphics. Images add interest to your page elements and are typically used for backgroundpictures, page banners, bullets, navigation buttons, and horizontal lines. Choose between the normalor active graphic set. The active graphic set uses animated page elements, such as hover buttons foryour navigation bar.

Styles. Styles are used to keep your headings and text consistent in font type, size, and color. Eachtheme uses a style that best suits the color and graphics in the page; however, a theme can bemodified to suit your preference.

Themes enable you to manage the appearance of pages in one convenient place. When a theme ischosen as the default appearance for a SharePoint site, that theme applies to all new and existing pages. If the default theme is changed or removed, the changes are automatically applied to the entire site. Youcan also apply themes to individual pages.

Method

1. Click , then Site Settings.

2. Under Look and Feel click Site theme.

3. Choose a theme and click Apply.

4. When you have finished editing the site click Exit Edit Mode (under ).

Design a theme

You can customize and design themes using a SharePoint-compatible Web page editor, such asFrontPage 2003 or SharePoint Designer. See the corresponding Help system for the Web page editor thatyou are using.

Design a theme

You can customize and design themes using a SharePoint-compatible Web page editor, such asFrontPage 2003 or SharePoint Designer. See the corresponding Help system for the Web page editor thatyou are using.
