Let me first pay my respects and regards to our founder president Late Dr. Nanubhai Amin
and all his successors, the Past Presidents for their valuable contributions.
Founded in the year 1957, we are in our Diamond Jubilee Year.
I take this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks to one and all, who supported me & my team during the year. We thought of bringing this special edition that describes the glorious history of BMA. Some of the Past Presidents have inked their memories to update the members on the historical growth of the Association. We thank one and all dignitaries who visited BMA events during the year, sparing their valuable time.

Urology is a specialty that deals with problems related to the genitourinary system.
The term “ urology diseases “ describes a wide variety of conditions, all related to the filtering and carrying of urine out of the body.
It is a quite less talked about topic, Cardiology taking a front seat. But these
diseases affect an equal number, if not more, of the general population. So it is important to know, when to go for an urological advice.
Contrary to the popular beliefs, urological disease spans across a wide age group and is present in both the genders. We see problems from urinary stones, urinary tract infection, urinary incontinence, to the commonly known prostate problems and oncological problems such as kidney, bladder and prostate cancers.

Achieving Economic Progress – The Sustainable Development Way

1. The 18th century ushered in the Industrial Revolution that has witnessed rapid
economic growth in many countries.
2. Key indicators as GDP growth of a country, per capita income are widely used to
measure the success of an economy. However, this does not tell us much about
how various segments of the population are benefitting from this growth nor
about the long term effects it is having on our environment.
3. While the 21st century is witnessing the rise of the digital revolution where
population around the globe are increasingly living in a connected world, we are
also seeing massive destruction of our environment that is already beginning to
have catastrophic impacts on human lives.
4. Is there an alternative to this devastation? The answer lies in adopting an
approach of “Sustainable development” wherein economic growth can be
achieved in a socially inclusive and environmentally friendly way. This talk will
explore how ecology and economy can actually meet and provide for human
well-being.
