TheTheTheThe HeraldHeraldHeraldHerald Chairman's Corner-
The International
Convention in Peoria, Illinois, had
to be one of the smoothest Conventions ever. I didn't need
a GPS to find it, even though it was in the middle of town, eve-
rything was easy to find, and anything you wanted was within walking distance. Every day
came another surprise, one day they had a drawing and a Jack
Daniels taste-testing session, complete with their nitro-fuel
burning dragster parked out front. Jack Daniels also pro-
vided free digital photographs with the car. I've never seen TWO HOSPITALITY ROOMS,
and food seemed to generate at different times unexpectedly.
The door prizes were also plen-tiful and everybody seemed to
go home happy, looking for-ward to next year at Louisville,
Kentucky.
A big plea went out to assist a member who survived a shot to his face with a twelve gauge at point blank range. His disfig-ured and now blind impairment has not diminished his desire to ride a motorcycle, today, even if that means his wife drives. He was fortunate enough to win an annual lottery for deserving person of a Trike conversion from a goldwing motorccle.

I attended the Inter- national Convention in Peoria, IL with Monica along with 4 countries flying high on the back of the motorcycles leading the parade was im-pressive and Monica carried the Swiss flag as my passen-ger. The Peoria Chapter did an excellent job in the face of numerous challenges. They had buses for those who did or could not ride motorcycles to the casino, to the picnics, and to a very spectacular show put on by Caterpillar. They even had special events for the ladies including one that will not be soon forgotten by the women who attended. Unfortunately, overall atten-dance was down due to the high cost of fuel. But for those of us who attended, we had a great time. The BOG and General Meetings went well and I will be submitting my full report at the SRC in Ocala at the end of Septem-ber. Hope to see you all there. RWP- Don Quintus
Chairman's Corner Cont
Frank Guillespie was told he medically could no longer ride a motorcycle and put
his for sale. Arrangements had to be made to purchase Frank's Bike to deliver to be converted into a trike for this officer. They were last short by a few thousand at last word. Most importantly, the party police maintained their antics and kept everybody on their toes. I was happy that the SRC suffered no serious breakdowns and the trailer was dragged all the way up and back for no good reason!
