The reason for
St. Joseph’s
Industrial Training Institute Kurla (W)
Don Bosco grew up in a poor family.
He worked on a farm to pay for his
studies.
Ordained a priest in 1841.
His DREAM… to reach out to
disadvantaged youngsters.
He skilled his boys in trades like shoemaking, tailoring, carpentry, book-binding, printing and ironworking.
Don Bosco died on January 31, 1888. Today, there are over 40,000 Salesian Family members
working across the World.
Don Bosco’s Preventive System is the soul of His
educational institutes spread in more than 132 countries
across the globe.
India has 12 Salesian regions called Provinces.
The Mumbai Province is made up of the States of : Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
There are about 32 Don Bosco Institutes in the Province of Mumbai.
