STORYTELLING1. ISSUE JULY 2012
The photos in the first issue of STORYTELLING were taken in a photography-workshop held on LungA Art Festival by the amazing Saga Sig.
How do we tell stories? Stories can be told in many ways, with words, dance, movies, performance art, photography and so on. In this workshop we create stories and worlds with photographs.
Moments are captured with photographs. At the moment we take a picture, we put true stories of life around us on film or pixels. Happy stories and sad stories. Some photographs depict dream worlds like we often see in the fashion industry whilst photographers in the art world use their photographs to portray a societal satire or to in-terpret emotions.
It is important for photographers to find their own personal style with their photographs and sometimes it takes a long time. It is a process to learn how to develop your ideas just as it is to learn how to develop film in a darkroom. It is also a process to learn how to put ones ideas into the subject at hand.
Our goal is to dive into and under the surface of fashion, go beyond our creative boundaries, find our inner voice (or our “inner diaphragm”).
On the first pages we will see everyones work from the workshop-days and then some former work from everyone.
