PROTECTION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

National Constitution of Colombia, Article 72: "The Nation's cultural heritage is under the protection of the State, the archaeological heritage and other cultural assets that make up the national identity belong to the nation and are inalienable, indefeasible and imprescriptible. it will establish the mechanisms to reacquire them when they are in the hands of private individuals and will regulate the special rights that the ethnic groups settled in territories of archaeological wealth may have. " The submerged cultural heritage is also part of the cultural heritage. The historical dynamics of Palenque de San Basilio and its Afro-descendant ethnic conscience allowed the local community to

with grammatical characteristics of the Bantu languages spoken in some regions of the current Democratic Republic of the Congo.

There are also musical and oral expressions, such as lumbalú, work songs, velorio songs, tenth palenqueras, sextet music and others

that have achieved national recognition, such as bullerengue sentao, cumbia and mapalé, which they are also practiced in other places

of the Colombian Caribbean coast. It is also important the social organization of the community, which is based on extensive family

Processions of Holy Week of Popayán Cauca: Popayán Celebrated since the sixteenth century, Holy Week processions in Popayán include Palm Sunday (a daytime procession), which represents the entrance of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem; the night processions of Tuesday, Wednesday and Holy Thursday, that recreate the passion and death of Jesus Christ; that of Good Friday, in which the burial of Christ is represented, and that of Holy Saturday, when his resurrection is commemorated. The central elements of the processions are the steps, representative images of the passion of Christ created and grouped according to complex norms transmitted from generation to generation and taught to children from the age of five. The figures of the steps are made of wood and date, mostly, from the end of the 17th century. Parades accompanied by rows of faithful who wear religious habits and carry candles, and are adorned with rich floral arrangements. San Martín gangs Celebrated every year during the month of November, since 1735, the Cuadrillas take place in the municipality of San Martín de los Llanos. Carnival of Riosucio Caldas: Riosucio The Riosucio Carnival is celebrated in the month of January of each odd year. The Carnival Devil is the central figure of the party, which is structured in three moments: preparation, sanction and consummation. The tradition of celebrating the godchildren with pots of alfeñique in the city of Santiago de Cali Valle del Cauca: Cali Resolution 3469 of November 6, 2013 The elaboration of alfeñique pots and their use as a gift to affirm the symbolic kinship between godparents and godchildren, is a practice that is celebrated every June 29, day of Saints Peter and Paul, being a tradition unique and unique to the city from Santiago de Cali. Living paintings by Galeras, Sucre Sucre: Galeras Download Resolution 3881 of December 11, 2013 The live painting is a public and ephemeral acting representation of a scene stopped in time, on an event, an allegory or a motive, usually religious, moral, historical and sometimes satirical. Gualíes, alabaos y levantamientos de tumba, ritos mortuorios de las comunidades afro del Medio San Juan Chocó: Medio San Juan Resolución 3094 del 6 de octubre de 2014 Los rituales mortuorios de las comunidades afrocolombianas del Pacífico se realizan para acompañar al muerto y a sus allegados, ayudando así a los difuntos niños o adultos en el paso de su alma hacia la eternidad. Los gualíes consisten en recitales, cantos y juegos que se llevan a cabo por una o más noches durante el velatorio de un niño. Los alabaos son cantos corales de alabanza y ofrendas a los santos, normalmente interpretados sin instrumentos, cuyo uso es común en contextos fúnebres, convirtiéndose así en cantos de velorio para adultos. El levantamiento de tumba se lleva a cabo en el último día de la novena de velación de un adulto en el cuál se desbarata el altar, a las cinco de la mañana, sellando así la partida del difunto. Es el último adiós al ser querido.

Red List of Colombian cultural property in danger

This Red List helps museums, art dealers, collectors, customs and police officials to identify objects that may be illegally exported

from Colombia. To facilitate identification, the Red List describes several categories of cultural property that can be subject to illicit

purchase.

Colombian legislation prohibits the export and sale of these objects. For this reason, a call is made to museums, auction houses, art

dealers and collectors so that they do not acquire them without first having verified, and in a reliable manner, their origin and the

corresponding legal documentation.

Due to the great variety of objects, styles and periods, the Red List of Colombian cultural property in danger is not exhaustive. Any

seniority that may come from Colombia should be the object of special attention and precautionary measures.

The Amacayacu National Natural Park

Sierra Nevada National Park of Santa Marta

The Sierra is the cradle of the Tayrona, a monumental indigenous civilization that existed in the country. There still live descendants of that culture with around 70,000 indigenous people from the Kogui, Arhuaco, Kankuamo and Wiwa ethnic groups. It is the highest coastal mountainous formation in the world, with two peaks of 5,775 m of altitude; the Cristóbal Colón peak and the Simón Bolívar peak. Due to its variety of ecosystems, thermal floors by the sea, its unique beauty and its historical and cultural richness constitutes a unique place to visit and was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1979

National Park Tayrona

The foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the highest coastal mountain in the world, sink into the sea like the fingers of a gigantic hand between which bays and inlets of singular beauty form: Chengue, Gayraca, Cinto, Neguanje, Concha, Guachaquita, with its white sand beaches bordered by, mangroves, bushes or forests, and bathed by the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, are part of the many attractions offered by the Tayrona National Park. Corales del Rosario and San Bernardo National Natural Park

The Protected Area is located on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, includes a large marine area off the coast of the departments of Bolivar and Sucre, occupying an area of approximately 120,000 hectares in the jurisdiction of the Tourism and Cultural District (DT and C. ) of Cartagena de Indias. The Park begins 23 km south of the city of Cartagena de Indias in the sector of Punta Gigante in the corregimiento of Barú. And in the southern zone, it is located in the lower Sotavento in the San Bernardo Archipelago sector, 35 km northeast of the city of Santiago de Tolú.

National Park Utría

Few places gather so much mystery and beauty at the same time, as the Ensenada de Utría located on the north coast of the Colombian Pacific, in the department of Chocó. To the south, the visitor will observe a series of mountainous foothills covered in exuberant tropical jungle that cut the sea half-hidden in the mist. Its calm and warm waters are a favorable place for the arrival of migratory species such as sea turtles, birds and whales and the ideal place for the spawning of fish like the Teenadeña needle (Tylosurus acus pacificus). The Ensenada is a changing landscape that grows and decreases according to the tide, while the winding estuaries between the mangrove reach even more dramatic mutations with their changes; during low tide some terrestrial creatures move among the roots of the mangroves, but when the tide rises, they move to give rise to the underwater fauna that arrives with the sea water.

PACIFIC COAST

Los Katíos National Natural Park

The Los Katios National Natural Park (PNNK) (fig.1) was created through Agreement 037 of 1973 with an area of 52 000 ha and

through Agreement 016 of 1979 (June 25) it was extended to an

area of 72 000 ha, limiting its western side with the Republic of

Panama, specifically with the Darien National Park with an area of around 700,000 ha, with which it

shares the title of Natural World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve,

in an area of approximately 48 km2. To the west, the limit

corresponds to the zone of water divorce of the Cacarica River, in its upper part; to the south, with the

lower part of the same river until its mouth in the Atrato and with the Caño Gumersindo; the eastern

limit is formed by the Peye River and the Ciénagas de Tumaradó.

The park is under the jurisdiction

of the departments of Chocó in the municipalities of Unguía (2%),

Riosucio (63%) and Antioquia in the municipality of Turbo (35%) (Figure 1); presenting a great

Old Providence National Park McBean Lagoon

The Natural Providence National Park McBean Lagoon is the only protected area of the National Natural Park System located in the insular Caribbean ocean of Colombia, so, despite its relatively small surface, it is also important because it protects part of the third longest barrier reef in the world. The Park is part of the Special Management Area of the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina since 1996, of the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve since 2000 and of the Seaflower Protected Marine Area of the Archipelago since 2004.

Puracé National

Park

Declared by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve in 1979, the Puracé National Natural Park is a volcanic area and reflects it both in its many sulfurous sources and in its name, which in the Quechua language means "mountain of fire". There are born the main rivers of Colombia: Magdalena, Cauca, Patía and Caquetá and also 30 calm and clear lagoons, ideal for contemplation. Within its magnificent landscape rises the volcanic chain of the Coconucos, also known as Serranía de los Coconucos, composed of 11 volcanoes.
