FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
What a massive change we have had in weather conditions! From the extreme heat and haze to heavy rain! Unfortunately, this led us to make a late change to our swimming carnival on Tuesday, where we only took the competitors to the pool to complete the mandatory swimming events. We were lucky enough to complete our events before the storm hit the pool around lunch time. Students that did not attend will be refunded in the near future.
Please note that some students who were away on Monday and did not get the note should still have been informed through the SKOOLBAG app. We use this app as a support for our notes and newsletters. If you don’t have SKOOLBAG, please ensure you download it via the app store etc. ASAP. The expectation of some parents that we should phone them of changes is unrealistic and unnecessary. If your child is absent, it is your responsibility to follow up on what may be happening.
Term 1 is a busy time for sport and yesterday, we ran trials for students who nominated for the Goulburn/Crookwell District PSSA teams. These are representative teams and a certain level of skill is needed for students to attend these trials. We may only send one, two or even no students to these trials. Our own school knockout teams will not be selected until next term.
Our MEET AND GREET afternoon will be held next Tuesday from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. It is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher informally and to look at their classroom. Please take the opportunity to join us over a sausage and a drink.
Next Thursday evening at 6.00 pm in the Bradfordville Community Room (BCR), we will be holding the first community meeting for those interested in contributing to our 50th Anniversary celebrations. If you are able to attend and make suggestions and help out, we would love to see you there!
Class information letters will be sent out shortly with information related to your child ’s class. Please take the time to read this and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask the teacher at our MEET and Greet.
I have been informed by the canteen supervisor that hats are available from the canteen. Every student should be in a school hat. I am also seeing a number of girls wearing lots of jewellery and elaborate hair bands. Please ensure that your child is wearing earrings that are not likely to be pulled ie studs or sleepers and no necklaces or bangles/bracelets. These rules help to ensure your child’s safety.
I look forward to meeting many of you at the BBQ next Tuesday night!
