How to Use
1. Install the micro SD/TF Card
① Insert the memory card as shown in the picture.
Push the memory card until it clicks into place.
② Push the memory card to reject
Note: To protect your memory card, please do not
remove or insert the memory card when the device is turned on.
2. Turn the Device On/Off
There are 2 methods to turn on/off the car camera:
Manual Power On/Off
① Press and hold the “Power” button for 3 seconds to turn on the device. The
device will enter into video mode and start recording automatically;
② Press and hold the “Power” button for 3 seconds to turn off the device manually.
Auto Power On/Off
① Connect the micro USB end of USB cable to the camera and the other end to the
car charger included;
② Plug the car charger to the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.
③ The device will turn on and start recording automatically when your vehicle
engine starts.
④ Unplug the car charger to turn off the device.
Note:
The blue light in the bottom right corner will flash when the device is in video
mode.
If inserted TF card is not compatible with DVR, it will display “Memory Card Error”
on the LCD screen.
When battery is low, it will display “Battery Low”, and the device will
automatically turn off and save the video file.

3. Charge the device
There are two ways to charge the device:
Charge by USB cable: Connect to any USB power source or power bank
Charge by car charger
Note:
During charging, the light in the left bottom corner will be solid red;
The LCD screen will light up and show “MENU” tabs when the device is
connected to a PC. You can press and hold the “Power” button for 3 seconds to
turn off the screen.
4. Place the DVR
① Clean the surface where the car DVR will be placed;
② Tear off the plastic cover on the bottom of suction cup;
③ Place the car DVR on the location
④ Push down the suction cup with force and pull down the locking lever
5. Car DVR Operation
TT-CD04 functions as a car DVR, a mass storage device and a PC camera.

Change Setting of Car DVR
① Press the “MENU” button once to enter Mode setting page (to change
configuration for CURRENT mode);
② Press the “MENU” button the 2nd time to enter System setting page (to set date,
time, language, etc);
③ Press the “MENU” button the 3rd time to exit setting;
④ Use “UP” and “DOWN” button to select different options, and use “Power”
button to confirm.
Basic Function of Car DVR
1) Record Videos
When the device is on, it will enter the VIDEO mode directly. You can see the time on
the top right corner is in red and running.
① To stop recording and save the current file, please press power button once.
Now the DVR is in STANDBY mode.
② Press the Power button again to return to VIDEO mode and record a new video
file.
2) Take snapshot
① When the DVR is recording, press the Power button to enter STANDBY mode;
② Press “MODE” button to enter CAMERA mode;
③ Press Power button once to take snapshot.
④ Wait a second for the car DVR getting back to camera status;
⑤ You can press “MODE” button to check the snapshot or press Power button to
take another snapshot;
⑥ Press the “MODE” button again to return VIDEO mode.
3) G-Sensor (Gravity Sensor)
G-sensor is to protect important information from being accidently deleted. Once
this function is enabled, the device will auto save and lock current video file when a
collision is detected.
The G-sensor function is turned on by default. User can adjust/turn off its sensitivity
per needed:
① Enter VIDEO mode
② Press “MENU” button once to enter Mode Setting Page

③ Press “UP” or “DOWN” button to find “Gravity Sensing” option and press Power
button to enter the G-sensing setting page;
④ Press “UP”/”DOWN” button to select the option you want;
⑤ Press Power button to confirm your selection;
⑥ Press “MENU” button twice to exit setting.
4) Protect your video
When the DVR is recording, press the “MENU” button and the device will lock the
current file. You will see a key icon on the left screen.
5) Playback, Delete & Unlock
In STANDBY mode, press the “MODE” button once to enter CAMERA MODE; Press
the “MODE” button again to enter the PLAYBACK mode, in which you can check the
saved video and photo files.
Playback:
Press the “UP”/”DOWN” button to select a file and press the “Power” button to
play/stop the video.
Delete:
① Press “UP”/“DOWN” button to find the file you want to delete;
② Press “MENU” button and you will see 3 options, including Delete, Protect and
Slide Show;
③ Press “UP”/“DOWN” button to highlight “Delete” and press Power button to
enter delete page;
④ Press “UP”/“DOWN” button to select whether to delete current file or delete all
files;
⑤ Press “Power” button to confirm.
⑥ Press “MENU” to exit.
Unlock:
After you lock one file (as mentioned in Point 4 “S.O.S”), this file can’t be deleted
unless you unlock it.
① Go to the Delete Menu Page as mentioned in “Delete”
② Select “Protect” tab;
③ Select “Unlock current” or “Unlock All” per your need in the new window;
6) Mute Recording
In video mode, users can turn off the sound recording by simply pressing the “MODE”

button. Press the “MODE” button again to turn on sound recording.
7) Reset
If you found the DVR not responding to any command, or if the system crashed,
please use a thin needle-like object to press the RESET button and then the device
will reboot and be back to normal.
PC Camera
When connected to PC via USB cable, 2 options will show on the LCD screen: Mass
Storage and PC camera.
① Press “Down” button to highlight “PC camera” option.
② Press Power button to confirm;
③ Wait for the driver installation on your computer;
④ Once the driver installed successfully, you can use the camera as a webcam with
Skype or video call.
Mass Storage
If your TT-CD04 has already carried a micro SD card inside it, you can use it as a
mass storage device to check video/image file via computer.
① Connect the device to PC via USB cable and choose “Mass Storage” by pressing
“Up” or “Down” button;
② Press “Power” button to confirm;
③ Wait for the driver’s installation;
④ Once the driver installed successfully, you can check the file in the micro SD
card.

Sudden changes of light, such as entering/exiting a tunnel or extremely dark
place may cause a temporary loss in video quality
Clean the lens with a dry clean cloth once every 3 month
Keep away from magnetic or high electric field Clean the suction cup with warm water and air dry it to bring back its stickiness
Warranty
This car DVR is covered with TaoTronics parts and labor warranty for 12 months from
date of the original purchase from authorized retailer and distributor. If the device
fails due to a manufacturing defect, please contact TaoTronics Support
([email protected]) immediately. We will instruct you on how to return the
defective unit back to us for repair and replacement.
This warranty does not cover products damaged by the following:
Accident, abuse, misuse or alteration of the product
Any damage to the device caused by improper installation or maintenance
Any collateral damages or consequential damages caused by improper use,
installation or unauthorized maintenance of the product
Damages caused by water, moisture and liquids
Damages caused by incorrect electrical current or voltage
Any other condition that is beyond our control
No return will be accepted without seller authorization.
