Things to remember…

The Week Before the Test
If you pray, now’s the time!
• Study and prepare religiously;
• Take one or two days off from work before the test to study;
• Read the competencies each night before turning off the lights to go to bed!
The Night Before the Test
This is your night!
• Let all family members and friends know that you are not to be disturbed about anything;
• Remain calm, cool, and collected;
• Go out and enjoy a nice meal;
• Take in a fun movie;
• Take a relaxing bath or shower;
• Read through the competencies one more time;
• Go to bed and sleep well!
The Day of the Test
Know that you will win!
• Set your alarm to get up in plenty of time so you are not rushed;
• Eat something, anything – you think better on a full stomach;
• Dress comfortably, including your shoes;
• Dress in layers – the test site may be cold or hot;
• Arrive at the test site early;
• Play all the games previously noted!

Bring something to keep you warm…
Bring water bottles with their bottle caps on…
Keep your calm…
Your nerves will cause you to lose focus…

The TExES is a reading test.

• Eat what you’re not suppose to – remember, it’s your day;
• Don’t dwell on the answers – running them over and over in your mind will not make them any more right or wrong;
• Forget the test and relax;
• Remember, the positive results are in the mail!
