Technical Lectures: The BMSIT&M Alumni Association conducts series of Technical lectures
by the Alumni. This program has been the main activity of the Association, with Alumni being
invited to share their thoughts, knowledge and experiences. The idea is to get the students a more
practical approach to life after college in universities or industries, and also to create a platform
where students can attain a source of knowledge that can help their careers. The following is the

1. A Technical talk was organized by Alumni of Mechanical Engineering Department Mr.
M. S. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Manager, Godrej Limited, Bangalore on the topic “Art
of Industrial Storage & Automation” on 22nd March 2014.
2. A Technical talk was organized by Alumni of Electronics & Communications
Engineering Department Mr. Suhail Ali, SAP Analyst, Cognizant Technology Solutions,
Bangalore on the topic “Transition from Campus to Corporate” on 29th April 2014.
3. A Technical talk was organized by Alumnus of Mechanical Engineering Department
Mr. Hemanth Anand, Production Engineer, Toyota Kirloskar Motors Ltd, Bangalore on
the topic “Toyota Production System” on 11th October 2014. The objective of the
technical talk is about the advanced manufacturing techniques adopted by the Toyota
Kirloskar Motors.
4. A technical talk on “Basics of Disctrete control systems (DCS) : Programmable Logic
Controllers, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition & Field Devices” was given by
Mr. Krishanu Ganguly, Senior Systems engineer - Design and Development, Siemens
Technology and Services Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru, who is an alumnus of Electrical and
Electronics department, On 21st Frebruary , 2015. He highlighted PLC applications for
automation of industrial electromechanical processes such as control of machineray on
factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or light fixtures.
5. A talk on Intuitive Circuit Design Techniques was given by Mr. Prachet Verma, an
alumnus of Electrical and Electronics department on 25th April, 2015. He discussed
about using passive components , BJTs, Op-amps, with an aim to build fundamental
rather than evaluating complex circuits.
6. Department of MCA organized series of interaction with many alumni in batches
interacted with the current students. The objective is to guide the students about the
requirement of the industry, enhancement of behavioral skills and Career guidance. The
Alumni participated in this interaction were Pundarik Vinayak, Syed Farooq,
Abhishek Yadav, Kushi juchani, Mamata K R and Leo Antony. This interaction was
held on July 24th July 2014, 30th August 2014 and 20th September 2014.
7. Deminar on Mobile Application Development using Android was oraganised by the
Department of MCA on 7th March 2015. The resource person is an Alumnus of E&C
Department Mr. Dileep Singh.
8. Mr. Saurabh Jain, alumnus of 2008 Batch ECE conducted a session on 7th July 2015
for students interested in startups. He covered all areas that might be useful in the
process of starting a company. His talk
included legal, financial, accounting, technology aspects of starting a company.
9. Mr. Aaditya Uthappa, alumnus of batch 2010 Telecommunication Engineering,
working at Paladion Networks as Engagement Manager - North America, Caribbean and
European Union collaborated with the free software club (TSFC). He discussed career
opportunities and also offered interested students the chance to work on a project idea.
The talk was held on 29th August, 2015.
10. Mr. Arundeep Nagaraj, alumnus of the 2011 batch TCE, presently working at Cisco,
USA as an Engineer - unified communications, Technical Services delivered a talk on
12th September 2015 on the topic Cisco as a company and his journey, what he does at
Cisco and what are the opportunities in CISCO. The students got an insight into
networking and computing technologies.

11. Mr. Varun Thamba, alumnus of the 2011 batch EC, presently working at SAP India as
a solutions consultant, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and HANA cloud,
delivered a talk on 12th September 2015 on what SAP does, how the IT industry is
changing the business landscape, what is the role of cloud in business and why he did an
MBA after BE.
12. A Technical talk on Advancement in object oriented programming was given by Mr.
Ranjith an alumnus of Information Science & Engineering on 19th September 2015.
The talk was started with the Basic concepts of OOPS such as Encapsulation, Inheritance,
Polymorphism, etc.
13. Shishir Bindiganavile Shridhar, alumnus of batch 2011 Electronics and
Communication, working at Altran Technologies, Bangalore conducted a session on 31st
October 2015. He discussed the growth of the VLSI industry it’s current status, future
and how E&C engineering's can make a career there.
14. Mr. Saradhi Akhilesh, alumnus of Telecommunication Engineering department
delivered the technical talk on Project and Finance Management on 13th February 2016.
During the course of the session, a virtual stock exchange environment was created so
that students could experience how people sell their products there and what tactics are
adopted to sell a product.
15. Ms. Kanchana S, alumna of batch 2011 Computer Science,working at Unilever,
Bangalore as the IT Innovations Manager conducted a session on 19th February, 2016.
She discussed the impact of one’s peer group on their careers and life. It was well
received by the 2nd year CS students who had various questions for Kanchana.
16. Mr. Shreelola R Hegde, Alumnus of 2014 Batch CSE, working in Zynga Inc. visited the
college campus on the 16th April 2016. He delivered an informative speech to the
students of 6th semester. This enlightened the students about top IT trends in the industry
and how they can prepare themselves to fill the huge gap between college and work
environment.
17. Mr. Pundrik Vinayak, Senior Application Developer, IBM (GBS), Alumnus of the
Batch 2012, Dept. of MCA delivered talk on 23rd April 2016 about Big Data &Terra
Data. He has given introduction to ETL process on Terra Data. He is very interested to
conduct hands on session on Terra Data & its tools, which will help our students to make
use of it in their big data / terra data projects.
18. Mr. Ranjith S, Apoorva V and Prashanth P Bharadwaj, Alumni of Dept. of ISE held
a session on 23rd April 2016 regarding guidance to the students to do higher education
(MS, MBA etc) especially in foreign universities and the current experience of the alumni
in industry.
19. Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Mishra, Alumnus of Batch 2011 Dept. of ME conducted a session
on the basics of Aircraft structures and its relations with Finite Element Analysis on
2nd May 2016. The talk was related to problems encountered while designing an aircraft
structure and its mitigation.
20. Mr. Prachet Verma, Alumnus of Batch 2013, Dept. of EEE conducted a session on
7th May 2016 titled Digital Integrated Circuits – From Design to Manufacturing. The
session enlightened the students and helps them in understanding the concept of DIC.
21. Mr. Venkatesh Prabhu, Alumnus of 2015 Batch CSE, working as Associate Software
Engineer, Zynga Game Networls Ltd. visited the college campus on the 17th September
2016. He delivered an informative speech to the students of 3rd semester. The topics
discussed in the technical talk are about Algorithmic approach towards real life problems,
Current trends and technologies in IT industries, Programming languages, artificial
intelligence, Machine learning, Data Science and Big data and Python and usage
examples Facebook graph API.
22. Mr. Prayas D Waghela, Alumnus of Mechanical Engineering Department 2009 batch,
has given a technical talk on 1st October 2016 titled “Safety and Reliability in
Automotive Products”. The talk was focused om the basics of Root cause analysis, Fault
Tree Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis. The safety aspects of automotive
products also discussed.
23. Ms. Varsha Arvind, alumna of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of
2012 graduating batch, has given a technical talk on 8th October 2016 entitled “Journey
from MBA to a start-up”. Ms. Varsha started the session by sharing her work experience
starting from Cognizant to Hector Beverage. She discussed and shared various
hurdles/challenges encountered during this course. Later she took us into her journey in
start-up industry. She covered various challenges faced by start-up industries.
