It seems like such a simple thing to submit ourselves
to the Lord, but we are human and we have free will
and we are also very stubborn creatures. It is easy for
us to pay lip service to God and then go off and do
our own thing. We like the feeling of being in control
and in charge of our destiny. We like to believe we
are proud and independent
Yet we still believe in the sovereignty of God. We
still call ourselves Christian and the People of God
but do not submit ourselves to God’s way of living.
We think our own ways are better… and we suffer for it.
Submission to the Lord does not mean we give up
our identity or our freedom. Instead we measure
everything we do against whether our actions are for
the greater glory of God. Our relationship with God is
one based upon mutual trust and understanding. God
wants us to live good and holy lives. God requires
very little from us. God wants our worship, God
wants us to be kind and good to our neighbors, and
wants us to walk humbly with him as our companion.
This is the measure we should use in our lives to make
sure our actions define us as Servants of the Lord.
Blessings,
Jason
In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:6)

Epistemology:
the study of knowing. It deals with the nature of
knowledge, how do we
know things, what do we know, why we know, is what
we know true, and what are
the limits of knowledge.
Every year on June 6 we recognize
the fun holiday, National Yo-Yo
Day. This day celebrates this historic
toy. It is the perfect day to get out
your yo-yo’s and try your hand at The
Sleeper, Walk the Dog, Shooting the
Moon, Around the World or Hop the
Fence. It is believed that the yo-yo was
first invented in ancient Greece. There
is a Greek vase painting, from 500 BC,
that shows a boy playing with a yo-yo.
The yo-yo was made popular in America
when Donald F. Duncan, Sr. manufactured
the Duncan Yo-Yo in the early 1900s.

ARE WE THERE YET? This age-old refrain of young travelers is followed by
a second question: “How much longer?” How similar
those queries are to the psalmist’s oft-repeated cry,
“How long, O LORD, how long?” (Psalm 6:3b, NIV).
Patience is an uncommon virtue these days. We’re
anxious to get where we’re going or to get what we
want. But think how much we miss while wishing
we were elsewhere! In our rush to reach a destination,
we fail to grasp lessons that can be learned only along
the way.
What blessings might you be
overlooking in the here-and-now
and the right-where-you-are?
