THE SEASHELL
Seaside Decorative Painters Of Daytona Beach
Letter From the President:
How exciting…… It’s almost time for the Auc-tion !!!!!
The auction is only weeks away so if you have not
signed up to attend you still have time. We always
have such a good time. Remember, this is our main
yearly fund raiser. The auction can only be successful
if we all participate.
Our September seminar with Diane Bunker was a
great. We all had such a good time. We sure did
laugh a lot. This was such an educational experience.
Everyone learned something.
We are asking everyone who is interested in teaching a
workshop next year to please submit your project as
soon as possible. We will be voting on the classes
shortly.
The next Board meeting will be October 8th
at Mary
Sue
Baldwin’s.

Ginny Wiegand It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that Seaside Decorative Painters mourns the loss of Ginny Wiegand. Ginny, a special friend, a great artist and a longtime member of Seaside Decora-tive Painters has passed away. The shock of her passing has affected us all. We will not only miss her smile and her presence, we will miss her con-tribution of talent, laughter and joy. Ginny selflessly gave her time and expertise to the success of our chapter.. She held many board positions over the years. Ginny worked on numerous committees including the Auction and Christmas Party. Ginny always had a smile for everyone and took many of us under her wing teaching us her love of painting. Let us each take a minute to quietly celebrate Ginny’s life and also say a special prayer for her family. We love you, Ginny, Rest now. You will be truly missed. Auction Update
Only about 3 weeks ‘till the auction. We have col-
lected so many beautiful items. If you have not yet
sent your check to Patti Primavera, better do it. There
is a limit on how many people can be seated.
Previously I asked all runners to be at the auction
about 10:45, but lets make it 10 a.m. Besides you’ll get a better parking space.
This is going to be a wonderful auction. Hope you are
as excited about it as I am.

Hi Everyone,
I would like to take a minute and thank
everyone for the prayers and best wishes
for my grandson Andrew. On September
17th
we again met with his doctors in
Gainesville and were given great news.
Although they cannot stop his seizures
they feel that the some of the new meds
that have been released will decrease the
intensity of them and slow them down
some. The outlook is much better then
they first thought. And the miracle of
the whole situation is that the World
leading authority of Andrew’s birth de-fect (he has written books and published
several papers in AMJ) is at Shands and
also works for the VA, he has agreed to
also take Andrew on and help supervise
his care.
Again thank all of you from the bottom
of our hearts.

SEASIDE DECORATIVE PAINTERS CHAPTER MEETING September 19, 2015 Meeting was called to order my Dee Mitchell,
President at 9:00 am. Today’s Chapter Meeting was a shared effort with Palm Coast featuring
Diane Bunker and associate Pam. After wel-
coming everyone the meeting started.
Secretary – Diannia Reininger asked if there
were any corrections to last month’s minutes that Patti Bolema submitted, there were none.
Treasurer – Ann Rimmer-Wagoner informs us
that there is $7,764.61 (including $45.00 in
Petty Cash) in our checking account.
1st
Vice President – Joanne Tibbils tells us that
there were 20 signed up for today and tomor-
row but two people were not able to attend. But
two that were signed up for Saturday have
asked to come on Sunday. She has available
the pattern for our November class being taught
by Lee available today.
We are going to have in 2016) Earlene Padgett
in January and Mark Menendez in July. Again
we will be cohosting with Palm Coast. More
information will be available later.
Website/Historian/Auction Chairperson – Ann
Hedberg happily tells us that the Auction is go-
ing well and she is very happy with the dona-
tions. On November 12th
and 13th
she will be at
the Craft Show being held at St. Brendan’s Church with things again donated to her to raise
money for the Raffles at the Chapter Meetings
that will resume in January so we may give nice
gifts away.
Christmas Chairperson - Joanne Hedges stated
that the food for the dinner has been chosen and
decorations. The gift exchange will be a
Chinese exchange so if you bring a gift you will
get a gift. The gifts can only be exchanged
twice, the third time it stays with the person
who takes it. So plan on coming and having a
great time.
Meeting called at 9:45 am.
Respectfully Submitted,
Diannia Reininger
Side Note – Please continue prayers for Ginny’s family and others in the Chapter who are sick or
have family members who are not well.
For grins and giggles I would like to thank everyone
who came to the Seminar this weekend and tell you
that between all the confusion at the hotel with keys
not working so they had to drill locks and having to
change rooms because of the fans and air condition-
ing not working, oh and the food orders being
messed up. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
They learned new things and talked and laughed a
lot. So thank you all for coming. And by the way
Diane Bunker donated two spoon necklaces for our
auction which she signed.

If you have a month you would prefer to teach, please note this on the submission sheet. The months
of October (Auction) and December (Christmas Party) are not available.
The class fee for a member is $15.00 of which SDP will pay $10.00 per student to the teacher. The
maximum student count is 30 unless the teacher specifies less. Whole day workshops are from 9:00
am (following business meeting) until 4:00 pm with a break for coffee after the meeting, lunch and an
afternoon break. If needed the teacher can continue until 5 P.M... The teacher will supply each student
with a line drawing and prep instructions and a one time color photo of the project prior to the class
and detailed instructions on the day of the class. If this is not an original design, the teacher must indi-

Auction Update Fifteen ladies attended the Auction Get-together. What
a great bunch of friends. We had several suggestions,
mostly on what to add to the auction, such as more door
prizes, and comments about some changes which will be
made. Basically, most are happy with the auction as
is. The secret project was making Zentangle gift cards
to sell at the auction, which everyone enjoyed. Mary
Sue gave a watercolor demo. Any member who was not
present is most welcome to join in and find out how to
do this. e-mail me ( [email protected] ) if
there’s any interest, and we will give a five minute demo at the May meeting/class. It actually doesn’t take any longer than five minutes to explain.
Please continue to work on items for the auction. It’s like our club has new life and it’s so exciting to see. We
have new ladies who are so enthusiastic, offering new
ideas and signing up for various jobs. Some ladies are
going to use points and get a gift card rather than try so-
liciting. I’m one of them. Some of us are just not good
at it. We now have twelve baskets. One thing we all
agreed on is that WE LOVE THE AUCTION!
See more pictures on web site and Facebook.
Auction Chair, Ann
