The Shepherd’s Call Newsletter of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin
“To Restore All People to Unity with God and Each Other in Christ”
As we begin the New Year, the work continues. We have successfully
launched our Hispanic ministry with Our lady of Guadalupe and the celebra-
tion of La Posada and completed the first phase of the capital campaign. 2013
was an incredible year for us and a critical brick in building the kingdom with
and for God.
January finds us hitting the ground running as we continue to work on the
capital campaign and as we welcome our new families in Hispanic ministry
and those who have newly joined us.
We have gained the attention of many people by how developed and capable
our leadership is at Good Shepherd. One of my primary goals when I came
seven years ago was to develop a strong leadership core, and look at us
now. We again proved our ability in facilitating the listening ses-
sions, integrating communication by the Bishop’s committee into the weekend
worship and holding another successful stewardship drive and time and talent
survey. You have impressed our consultant Erin Weber-Johnson and Peggy
Bean, the Bishop’s canon for congregational development.
We had a dozen of our members come to our first Spanish service on Dec.
12th to welcome and share in the celebration with families from Grace Church
Madison and families from Sun Prairie’s Hispanic community. A huge Thank
You to El Patron restaurante which sponsored the fiesta with us after the lit-
urgy.
Our new year will again demand our courage, our hard work, our strong faith
and our ability to adapt and to have listening hearts. I am so ready for what
God Has planned for us. Our new year will continue to draw us deeper into
God’s plan for us. We will continue to have opportunies to learn about our-
selves, grow our faith, and be the hands, voice and heart of God in our com-
munity. Keep praying hard, Good Shepherd, the new year is going to be an
exciting and grace filled. God bless you and those you love in the New Year
