• Started in 1945 in Mumbai, India.
• Original production was on locomotives.
• 1954– launched its first

• Mercedes and Tata teamed up to create a truck line.– First major business

• In 2010 , 2 Tata Nano cars caught fire.
• In March, 2010 the car was being driven from the dealership to the home of its owner in Mumbai.
• In April, 2010 it was being driven to a dealership in Gujarat’s Anand district.
