Sensory Garden Project Week 5 Newsletter This week, in collaboration with the residents and staff at Rembrandt Court, we have started the planning stage of our project. Many great ideas and plant choices have been presented in the Gardening Group interest meeting on Wednesday, 19th of June and we will do our best to work those into the plan for the sensory garden. We have also been asking residents to vote for their favourite fountain and we are pleased to announce the fountain pictured here was the most popular! The early stages of construction should begin sometime in the next week or so. We will be around on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9am to 3pm in the Café usually, should you have any enquiries about the garden or the gardening group, have any ideas or would just like to have a chat. Jaclyn and Davita

This month’s meeting The Board met on Wednesday 26 June 2019 at Rembrandt Court.
This month the Board focused on strategic matters and in particular, following on from some security issues in the past, Board has directed the CEO to investigate upgrading security measures at Rembrandt Court such as possibility of migrating over from keypad/code security to swipe cards and how this may be integrated with our other systems like the nurse call bell and CCTV.
Discussions also centred around the proposed Allied Health Centre and the Green Fields property make-over with consideration to physical size of available spaces, WHS requirements and general layout.
The Board discussed Board Performance Evaluation and although there are no issues with performance, the Board believed an evaluation is warranted. The Chairman will email Board Members a draft questionnaire for their consideration and a worksheet where Directors can self-assess their opportunities for improvement.
The Finance, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee recommended Board approve the 2019/20 Budget Draft 2. This was approved along with the Capital Budget and Cashflow Statement.
Board was pleased to note that the newly created Consumer Reference Group (CRG) which is an advisory group to the Board will hold its first meeting on Thursday 18 July. The Group is represented by residents, family members and community consumers and will meet once per quarter.
Meet Director and Secretary of the Board, Mrs Joy Tol
Joy has enjoyed a varied and fulfilling career in the acute health care setting for over 40 years in both Clinical and Senior Nurse Management roles. Joy holds a Masters Health Management, a Bachelor of Nursing and is a Registered Nurse and Midwife. Joy joined the Board in February 2016.
The next Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday 31 July 2019 at Rembrandt Court.
