Theo-centric Naturopathic Program
Vision, Mission, and Purpose
1. To instruct, train, certify, and license specialists as Doctor of Biblical Naturopathy (D.B.N.) in Biblical Holistic Wellness for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
2. To train practitioners and academic specialists or professors in the ministry of Biblical Holistic Wellness and Health Services.
3. To train practitioners to recognize, encourage, and support the innate or natural ability of the body to heal or get well through Biblical principles.
4. To encourage the importance of “Physician heal yourself” with a focus on remaining healthy under the sovereign design, supervision, and control of God.
5. To encourage individualized mastery learning, motivational enrichment, service leadership, and life empowerment throughout the Body of Christ.
6. To demonstrate throughout the Body of Christ the vision of establishing Biblical Holistic Wellness and Health Services, winning the souls of the lost and hurting.
7. To promote, demonstrate, and defend the principles of Biblical Holistic Wellness, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to advance health and wellness.
8. To establish a standard of competence and excellence in the field of Biblical Holistic Wellness in Theo-centric Naturopathic practice.
Theo-centric Naturopathic Practice
Theo-centric Naturopathic Practitioners are trained specialists applying unique healing arts that support Biblical principles, like prayer, laying on of hands, anointing with oil, inner healing, and the removal of demonic influences. The principles of Biblical Holistic Wellness are defined as spiritual, physical, and mental health and deliverance, according to the Authorized King James Version of The Holy Bible. According to the Holy Bible, we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Jesus came to “give us life and life more abundantly.” And, “we shall live and not die!” We are called to “prosper in all ways, in health, even as our soul prospers.
Theo-centric Naturopaths concentrate on identifying destructive aspects of a person’s lifestyle in the early phases before a diagnosis can be rendered, when making changes or corrections can produce long-term benefits. These aspects or “roots” can be spiritual, physical, and/or mental. Once corrected, the body automatically begins to correct itself. If these underlying factors are not addressed, disease and illness will eventually manifest. Diagnosing disease and illness is totally unnecessary once balance is restored. The body heals itself. Even after a diagnosis is made by a qualified medical doctor, the same concepts of healing used are equally effective.
Theo-centric Naturopaths do not diagnose or label people with the names of medical diseases, nor are they involved in the practice of medical procedures. Neither do they use pharmaceutical drugs, nor do they perform any surgery. In essence, they are drugless practitioners trained in Biblical principles for the purpose of ministering to the whole person; soul, body, and spirit.
Scope of Practice
Theo-centric Naturopaths or Biblical Holistic Wellness Practitioners are permitted under California SB577 to operate independently under the following provisions:
1. Traditional, Classical Naturopaths, hereinafter called Theo-centric Naturopaths, specialize in holistic wellness, teaching clients how to apply natural lifestyle approaches to facilitate their body’s own natural healing, homeostasis, and optimum potential in health.
2. Theo-centric Naturopaths are teachers of natural health and wellness practices; evaluating health; suggesting nutrition; as well as, stimulating health and wellness education or the information literacy of clients.
3. Theo-centric Naturopaths do not seek to “practice medicine,” but offer a person who is not injured information, optimizing awareness of options in health and wellness.
4. Naturopathy, which means being close to or benefiting from nature, is a philosophy which encompasses a view of life, a model for living a full life.
5. Theo-centric Naturopaths do not undertake to “diagnose” or “treat disease,” but rather recognize that most sub-health conditions are cumulative lifestyle effects, and that the underlying cause of what we call “disease” (or, “disease”) is an unbiblical lifestyle, improper diet, unhealthy habits, and environmental factors which cause biological imbalances leading to a weakening of the bodies’ natural defenses and subsequent breakdown in health.
6. Traditional, Classical Naturopathy is an alternative or complementary healing art in the State of California under Section 2053.5 and 2053.6 of California’s Business and Professional Code.
7. The practice of Traditional, Classical Naturopathy, the Art and Science of Natural Health and Wellness is not considered the practice of medicine and is currently legal in all 50 states. It is recognized as a common occupation at the Federal level (U.S. Congress 1928, 1929, 1930 and 30 Federal Court rulings between 1958 and 1978) and as such it is a profession protected under the 14th and 95th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.
Doctor of Biblical Naturopathy (D.B.N.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Holistic Wellness
The Doctor of Biblical Naturopathy for clinical specialization in Holistic Wellness and Health and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Holistic Wellness for scholarly pedagogical training in research programs, and in that order Biblical naturopathic programs are designed to train ordained Biblical specialists, practitioners and/or naturopaths in a separate and distinct healing art, with a primary emphasis on using noninvasive natural remedies and considerations for Biblical holistic (spiritual, physical, and mental) wellness and health. Referring clients to medical doctors and other specialists as appropriate and in cooperation with other allied health professionals, Biblical specialists, practitioners and/or naturopaths tailor and offer healing modalities to meet the needs of a wellness client with methods that are effective for either chronic or acute health challenges. The course work for the program prepares graduates to certify and license Biblical Naturopaths.
Naturopathy, which means being close to or benefiting from nature, encompasses a view of life, a model for living a full life. Biblical Naturopathy is based on the Biblical belief or faith in the body's innate, God-given, natural ability to heal itself when influenced internally and externally with lifestyle changes, dietary measures or appropriate and adequate nutrition, herbs, hydration, probiotics, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, etc. In practical application, a wellness plan (rubric) is prepared from a comprehensive intake based on lifestyle analysis, nutritional dietary assessment, metabolic analysis, and other evaluative procedures. Training requires the science (knowledge) and art (application) of a wide variety of Biblically-based holistic methods that naturally and supernaturally support a client’s healing process or innate, God-given, natural ability to recuperate.
Protected under California SB577, Biblical Naturopaths are not involved in the practice of medicine, the use of pharmaceutical drugs, nor surgery. Evaluating health, suggesting nutrition and stimulating the health and wellness of clients, they specialize in holistic wellness and health, teaching clients how to apply natural lifestyle approaches as specialists or practitioners of Biblical natural health and wellness practices. Naturopaths do not seek to “practice medicine,” but offer a person who is not injured information, optimizing awareness of options in health and wellness. In reality, Biblical Naturopathy deals with wellness and relief from conditions that are the result of stress caused by spiritual, mental, nutritional, environmental, or physiological factors.
Traditional Naturopathic Biblical belief or faith are based on the following principles: 1. Do no harm 2. God has designed the body to heal 3. Recognize the healing power of nature as designed by God 4. Recognize the supernatural healing power of God 5. The natural and supernatural work together 6. God has made provision for recovery of sickness 7. Identify the cause, source, and/or spiritual root 8. Involve the total person (soul, body, spirit) 9. Support the body’s innate, God-given, natural ability to heal
10. Health is maintained through Biblical principles and patterns Pre-Requisite Requirements: Masters of Theology Degree (See Catalog Handbook)

Theo-centric Naturopathic Principles
The Biblical faith of the Theo-centric Naturopath is centered on the following:
1. Jesus, The Word of God, is the healer and He desires health for all people.
2. God uses the natural and the supernatural to restore health.
3. The body of man has a God-given innate or natural ability to heal itself and will do so when properly supported.
4. Mankind was formed out of the dust of the earth and is therefore inherently connected to the land (nature).
5. God formed man in His image (soul, body, spirit) and that health is a function of these three inter-functioning facets, defining the term “holistic wellness.”
6. Our bodies are meant to be the temples of the Holy Spirit and should be nurtured and protected for His service.
7. The professional responsibility of the practitioner to minister wholeness of soul, body, and spirit rather than treat symptoms is a priority.
The Traditional, Classical Naturopathic Philosophy is based on the following principles:
1. Do no harm 2. God has designed the body to healing 3. Recognize the healing power of nature as designed by God 4. Recognize the supernatural healing power of God 5. The natural and supernatural work together 6. God has made provision for recovery of sickness 7. Identify the cause and source 8. Involve the total person (body, soul, spirit) 9. Support the body’s innate, God-given, natural ability to heal 10. Health is maintained through Biblical principles and patterns
