2018-2019 Diocese of Gary Tuition Assistance Applications

The Diocese of Gary would like to announce that tuition assistance applications for the 2018-

2019 school year are available. FACTS Management will continue to provide and process our

tuition assistance applications.

The applications are only online at the Diocesan website, www.dcgary.org. You will the appli-

cation by clicking on the Schools tab and then clicking on the blue rectangle labeled Tuition

Assistance Application. There are no paper applications. The regular application period will

close on March 19, 2018. After that date, families must wait for initial awards to be distributed

before the application will open again sometime in June for late applications, appeals, and new

families.

Tuition assistance is only open to Catholic families who are registered members of parishes within the Diocese of Gary. You

may complete an application if you have children entering grades kindergarten through 12. Preschool students are not eligible

for tuition assistance. There is a $27 fee per family to apply. If you need help with the application, FACTS will have an email

address, phone number, and chat line on the application website for customer service.

Critics gave Magic & Mischief over three hundred thumbs up! (That’s two thumbs from every

person that attended.)

We promised, we delivered, and you enjoyed an all new, refreshed event. It’s too early to tell

how much was raised, but it has been confirmed that 9.75/10 people LOVED the event!

The highlight of the Live Auction was this little gal who found magic in her new home with

the Kovanda family. Her name is Brizzley (after the Cubs’ Bryant, Rizzo and Wrigley Field)

and she’s an 8-week old full-bred Labrador Retriever from Creekside Kennels. The Silent

Auction had over 130 packages to bid on and with online bidding (new this year), bidding

wars were at full peak starting on Friday night!

Ally Christian serenaded everyone early on, and attendees were mesmerized by magician, Norman Basile and The Mind Trip-

ping Show. How did Katalina know the serial number of that $100 bill? Arrested Sounds kept the tunes rocking all night long.

And, The Market’s Philly Cheesesteak sliders did NOT disappoint!

This production was brought to the families and friends of Saint Paul by an outstanding Benefit committee of volunteers!

And, of course, we couldn’t have done it without the support of our fantastic sponsors and Scholar Circle Members.

Our goal was for everyone to have fun, while raising funds for the school we love! Thank you for

everyone who attended, donated, admired from afar! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Call Out for Track!— Ray Tarnow, SPCS Athletic Director

Track call out meeting will be Thursday, April 5th, after school until 3:30pm. The meeting will take place in the gym. All

paperwork for practice dates, meet dates will be passed out at that time.

The 7th and 8th grade CYO Boys’ Volleyball Team had a great sea-

son. They ended their regular season undefeated with a record of 5-0. The

boys and I had a great time getting to know each other as this was their first

time playing volleyball together. It was so fun watching all of them grow

and come together as a team. Throughout the season it didn't matter who I

chose to play because they all played well. We went into the tournament as

Conference Champs and received the bye for our first match. We went on

to play St. Thomas More and we beat them in two sets to win the

match. Jack Gotsch had 6 serves in a row to help us win.

On Sunday we returned to play St. John the

Baptist. We lost the first set, but came back to

win the second. The last set was close. The

boys played hard and there were long volleys

back and forth. We ended up loosing by one

point 14-15. It was a tough loss, but the boys

can hold their heads high as the game could

have gone either way. I'm so proud of all of

them and I enjoyed every minute of being

their coach. Such a great group of guys.

The Checkered Flag has been Waved!— Scout Leader, Doug Wassilak

The Saint Paul Cub Scouts held their annual Pinewood Derby on March 3rd. Scout families enjoyed delicious food, great

fellowship, and intense derby races. Winners of the day included William Torres (Best in Show), Christian Sutliff (4th Place),

Lucas Gary (3rd), Nolan Erdelac (2nd), and Benjamin Wassilak (1st).
