Whether it is wedding ceremony or reception, music plays a major part. It creates the atmosphere of your wedding.Today many couples are hiring a DJ to provide taped music for their ceremony or reception. This is because, DJ services offer wide choice of music and ability to control volume and play continuously.
Want to hire a DJ for your wedding?
Follow the below points.
Ask for referrals from friends, relatives, and other wedding professionals who may have worked with
DJs in the past. Also ask the DJ what kind of experience he/she has. If the DJ you’re considering
only has experience playing in proms and sweet sixteen’s, keep searching.
Check whether the DJ is having the necessary equipment and ask if he/she has worked at your site before.
If not, ask him or her to visitbeforehand to check electricaloutlets and acoustics.
Although hiring a DJ is less expensive compared to live musicians, you must specify the amount
and over-time rates in your contract. Most charge a set fee for a party.
So be certain to compare quotes.
Ask the names and phone numbers of couples who hired
the DJ for their weddings. While interviewing, ask to see videotapes of the DJ in action,
or attend an event where he/she will be working.
Specify in your contract that the DJ you saw will be the DJ you get
at your wedding. Never pay full payment in advance, you’ll have
no leverage if a different DJ shows up. Specify in the contract
who will be the backup if the DJ becomes ill.
