TOURiSM AnD HOSPiTALiTY: A DYnAMiC SECTOR
According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), international tourism grew by 5% in 2014 with worldwide arrivals reaching record numbers at over 1 billion.
The continuous growth in demand for tourism services shows that the sector is playing a key role in boosting the economy, especially during times of recession.
Tourism also has great potential as a development industry that can help disadvantaged regions to kick start their economies through sustainable tourism that respects cultures and the environment.
The growth of the sector depends on employing highly trained professionals with creative ideas and the ability to innovate to help make the sector more competitive.
The Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a four-year university qualification (240 ECTS) which meets the requirements of the European Higher Education Area and is designed to train future leaders in the tourism and hospitality industry. It takes place in Barcelona (Spain).
To meet the demands of the tourism and hospitality sector and enable students to adapt to its rapid development and constantly changing nature, the program combines training in business management with the development of the hospitality skills required to ensure customers receive excellent service.
HTSI ensures students are in constant contact with the international tourism and hospitality sector from day one, with courses taught by industry professionals and internships in top-ranking companies. The school also fosters an international outlook. The degree can be taken as a bilingual course or entirely in English, and university exchanges are organized for both students and teaching staff: encouraging students to be mobile is one of the fundamental pillars of the program.
