Subject: Stowe Dnve/Erowns Bridge Road Junciion. Soulham
Dear Debbie
As requested, a technical assessment of the above junction has been carried out on theabove junction to determine whether the junction could be altered.
The assessment has found that it is not possible to alter the junction, as the requiredvisibility distance would not be met. The bend would prevent drivers from being able to seewhether it was clear or not to proceed from the junction, and this could result in accidents.Although I appreciate concerns from residents, the present arrangement appears to beworking, as there have not been any accidents involving injury within the last 3 years
lf you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me

Over the last few months I have been asking var ious people about theirthoughts on having a Heroes Wal l in Southam.
This wal l would not only for personnel f rom the serv ices but for people f rom al !walks of l i fe.
Here are a few examples below of names I bel ieve that could be on the wal l ,
Seth Bond who fought in the Cr imea War. Len Wooley, Alan Reading, GeorgeBromwich. Al l three won the mi l i tary medal in World War Two. To get three inSoutham was an honour to the town but these three men l ived next door toeach other.
Henry Li l ley-Smith for the countr ies f i rs t f ree Provident Dispensary.
Cyr i l Bourne who donated land for the Cr icket and footbal l c lubs.
Tr ina Gul l iver ladies wor ld darts champion.
Steve Beaton former mens world champion
Arthur Cox professional footbal ler and manager.
Nigel Armstrong who dedicated a lot of t ime to Southam youth footbal l teamsand a founder member of Southam Uni ted Bowls Club
Bobby Hancocks has been involved for 61 years and his wi fe Ann 50 years wi thSoutham U ni ted FC
This is just a few examples and I am sure that there are some ex counci l lorsand char i ty workers who would mer i t a ment ion for the work that they havedone for the community in the town for a number of years that would be niceto see their work honoured on the WaJl of Heroes.
After approaching Counci l lor Dave Wise for advice and his thoughts he advisedme to write to the town council and put the suggestion forward to thecounci l lors.
Counci l lor Dave Wise is 100% behind the idea and an ideal area would be inthe l ibrary grounds where i t might be possib le to incorporate a Heroes Wal l inthe reva m p of the library a rea if the Town Council agree with the jdea.
I and the people that I have spoken to about th is are in fu l l agreement wi th theidea of a Heroes Wal l , and agree that i t could a lso help wi th get t ing rounsmInto the area.
I hope that the Town Counci l support th is idea and that i t can be brought tofru i t ion so that local people and tour ist a l ike can see how wonderfu l peopleare from the town of Southam.
Yours fa i thfu l iy
