Carmen Boullosa is an internationally acclaimed Mexican writer who lives in New York. She has won the Xavier Villaurrutia prize in Mexico and Spain’s Café Gijón Prize. � ree of her books are availa-ble in English translation—� ey’re Cows, We’re Pigs (1991), Leaving Tabasco (2002), and Cleopatra Dismounts (2003). Boullosa co-hosts Nueva York, an Emmy Award-winning television series in the US. She will deliver a special lecture to mark the visit of Edouard Manet’s � e Execution of � e Emperor Maximilian to the Mead Gallery.
