PRINCIPAL NEWS
Online Newsletters
Congratulations, we have decreased our paper usage by an extraordinary amount. Only 35 paper copies are being printed, for those families who have requested a paper copy.
OUTSTANDING! We are saving some trees and protecting our environment.
Remember, it is still essential to read our school news. You don’t want to miss out on important updates or upcoming events at Kingy PS.
Newsletters are available via School Stream or on our website.
Game Changer Challenger
This week our innovative Stage 3 team are on their adventure to Sydney, guided by Mr Bush and Mr Wallace.
The team left for Sydney on Monday and will spend all week learning about innovation and creative thinking! The teams will visit Google Headquarters, be coached in design thinking, engage in makerspace tutorials and must answer their challenge question and develop a ‘pitch’ presentation, to be delivered to an expert panel.
Good luck team! What an exciting week!
Kingsley Play Day
Don’t forget on Thursday afternoon from 12 pm – 1pm (after K-2 carnival), we will have a mixed playground and extra playtime for students. This means that students can play in areas in which they may not always play, e.g. oval or fixed equipment, or with siblings. All teachers will be on duty, as this is usually class time and some extra play equipment will be available, e.g. totem tennis and music in the hall. Kindergarten and stage one will have some inside play opportunities as well. Parents and carers are welcome to join in the fun, if you wish.

We'll need some helpers at the BBQ so if you'd like to volunteer, please go to the below link and sign up for a time slot that suits you. https://signup.com/go/QFNUkuB The boys are racing first, shortly after 9am and the girls are on from 10am with the distance races happening after the break - so you can schedule yourself into an hour that doesn't clash with watching your child run! And remember to bring $2.50 for a snag! KIMP NEWS Hi everyone, we have a busy couple of weeks coming up for KIMP so please check the newsletter and timetables each week so you are aware of any changes. Week 3 got off to a GREAT start this morning with a really excellent rehearsal for Intermediate Band...I would even go so far as to say our best so far all year! Some of the students have made a really big effort to improve on their practice routines at home and the difference it makes is HUGE! Well done to those students… imagine how great we will sound if we can get the whole band practicing consistently at home. It's worth remembering that they will enjoy it more if they are practicing and then will want to continue, which is what we want them all to do so they get all the benefits of learning an instrument - and there are so many! Upcoming rehearsals and lessons: Week 3 Normal for all ensembles and lessons (yay!) Week 4 Monday 7.45am SENIOR BAND, Monday lunchtime BIG BAND (because of Stage 3 Canberra trip starting Tuesday) Tuesday 8am INTERMEDIATE BAND - and Monday lessons (as on timetables) Wednesday - no band and no lessons. All Senior band lessons will be on Monday. Senior Band and Big Band Sunday Workshop #3 - Sunday 18th August. 8.45am Big Band 10am Senior Band Please bring a plate to share for morning tea. We will finish with a pre Eisteddfod performance at 12.30pm. Creative Arts Camp - next week four of our very talented creative students are heading to Lake Ainsworth for the week for the Regional Creative Arts Camp. Congratulations to these students...Rilka Bell (flute), Olivia Irvine (clarinet), Luka Friend (tenor sax), Ella Bonnor (dance). Hopefully next year the camp won't be at the same time as camp and more students will be able to apply to go. Notes and money ($15) for the Gold Coast Eisteddfod are due back by this Friday 9th August. Any queries, please email me. It's getting very exciting in the lead up to the eisteddfod, keep encouraging that practice at home...please!!! Nicky Cooper [email protected]
