Vital
Churches
H. O. P. E.
Show your church’s love for the BUILDING H.O.P.E. ministries by making a banner to
hang. Pre-cut the triangles and divide the group into 8 groups to make the flags to
create a beautiful banner. Personalize it by changing the images and colors.
We can help each other by BUILDING
H.O.P.E. in Malawi. They need
education, medicine and medical
clinics.
Love each other as I have loved you.
John 15:15
“Where is my hope? Who can see any hope for me? “ Job 17:15
Building Healthy Families
in Malawi
Make a bank. Any clean plastic container with a lid
will work. Remove the labels and cut a small rec-
tangle slot for the coins. Paste or tape on the new
label. (Shown below) Encourage each child to begin
Building HOPE for other children by filling their bank.

How Can Your Hands Help?
Make a BUILDING H.O.P.E. banner of
handprints to show support for the four
ministries. Hands can be traced , paint-
ed, or colored. Write your name, and a
blessing or the name of one of the ministries on the hands.
Playdough
1 cup salt
2 cups flour
2 cups water
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
food coloring
Mix the first 5 ingredients. Add drops of
coloring until it is the desired color. Cook
about 5 minutes in a medium size pot. Stir
constantly until it thickens. Remove and
knead out the lumps. Store in Ziploc bags.
Dough shapes will harden when left out to
dry.
Trace your helping hands or make and
dry Playdough handprints.
For Middle School and above, suggest they use their
devices to search each ministry. Have them develop a
prayer list for the needs of each ministry based on their
research. Or, provide a small notebook to collect prayer
requests for the Building HOPE ministries:
Malawi Health Care needs clean water, electricity, medi-
cine, rural clinics and more
Guatemala Ministry needs money for education and more
Our churches need help to grow strong. We need technolo-
gy, worship ideas, leadership training and more
Camp Grier needs leaders, equipment for activities, trails
for hiking, biking. horseback riding and more
Add more as the discussions progress.
Our Hands Are BUILD-
ING H.O.P.E.
Bring a globe to class. Find Malawi and discuss
helpful facts about the people , the Ebenezer
School and the Malawi Hospital.
Find Guatemala and discuss the country and its
people. Share the available maps.
*Take a field trip around
your church to see all
the things inside and
outside that helps it to be
a vital church!
Check out BUILDING H.O.P.E.

It takes 15 minutes
to complete this
recipe from start to
finish.
For the best results
use bright colors
for the handprints!
Cut coin slot
LABELS FOR MAKING A COIN BANK FOR YOUTH
Collect clean frosting containers. Cover the white container with bright construction paper,
wrapping paper, or wallpaper. Glue the labels on and cut the coin slot.
Other containers will also work. Pringle cans work well – labels will need to be re-sized.
