NEVER STOP LEARNING
Inspiring professional teachersOur teachers are selected for personality, dedication, enthusiasm and experience. They lead interactive, conversation-based classes that teach real-world language based on current events and everyday top-ics.
Small class sizeWe always limit class sizes (12-15, max 17) so that you are sure to receive personal attention from your teachers. This ensures you will have the time to express yourself and to interact with classmates from around the world.
Technology-enhanced classtime An EF exclusive! We’ve fully integrated teacher-led tablet lessons into most courses. Our groundbreaking tablet apps accelerate the learning process by increasing interactivity in the classroom.
Interactive classrooms Our teachers are trained to use technology for your advantage, so in addition to tablets, all of our learning environments are fully equipped with classroom media, projectors, a computer lab, and WiFi.
Special Interest classes Make your language studies your own by taking Special Interest classes (SPINs) in the subjects you prefer. Every school offers a variety of SPINs, in a wide range of business, career, academic and arts-related topics. See p. 13.

Why is EF Intensive our most popular course?Because not only do you maximise the amount that your language skills improve, you also gain valuable time to prac-tice with fellow students. This extra interaction enables you to communicate in a natural way, faster than on other courses, and in the process form lasting friendships.
How many weeks should students enrol for an EF Intensive Course? The longer you study, the more you will improve, guaranteed. That’s why students seeking advanced language skills enrol for a minimum of 3 to 6 weeks. Keep in mind that Intensive students make progress 25 to 50% faster. A 6-week course allows most students to advance one full level of ability, and many intensive students choose to achieve greater flu-ency with courses of 3 months or more.

More than a language courseThe EF Academic Year Abroad Programme is a nine-month programme of study combining language studies with an academic focus. It is structured to give you a fundamental understanding of your study language and enable you to use it in an academic or professional context.
Intensive language learningYou’ll concentrate on fundamental language skills while explor-ing areas of academic interest at an increasingly higher and more challenging level. Teachers concentrate on improving fluency by encouraging speaking and listening skills, so you see results, fast. You’ll find that your vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation will also quickly improve. Your classroom learn-ing will be reinforced by daily immersion in your new language and culture.
Specialised programmesChoose from a variety of specialised programmes to reach your academic and career goals. If you are interested in a ca-reer studies curriculum, the EF Advanced Diploma Programme allows you to concentrate on your professional objectives. To gain qualifications for university study or for future employ-ment, we offer university and exam preparation. Or, for the world traveller, one can study two to three different languages in up to three different countries.
Programme DiplomaAt the end of your programme, you’ll receive an official docu-ment listing the programmes you have taken and the grades you received. When you choose a curriculum with specific SPIN classes, you can also receive an official EF Advanced Diploma in International Communications.
Exam Preparation Over 90% of students decide to take an internationally rec-ognised exam during their Academic Year Abroad, including Cambridge English, IELTS, TOEFL and more.
Optional internship & volunteer experienceUsing your new language skills in a work environment will give you a real advantage in today’s competitive job market. See the next page for details about the EF Internship and Volunteer Experience Programmes.
International atmosphereLiving and studying alongside students of many different na-tionalities means that not only will you have friends to explore a new country with, but you will also gain a wider, more global perspective. Your classmates will become an important part of your academic year learning as you build an international network for life.
Convenient intakesFollowing the academic calendar, these programmes have start dates in January, April, June and September. See p. 34 for list of dates.

AT HOME IN THE WORLDChoosing the right accommodation for you is an important
part of your experience. That’s why we offer four distinct options for you to inte-grate with the local culture. From Homestays to Campuses, all accommodations reflect EF’s exacting standards for quality and comfort.
EF Homestay Experience maximum cultural exchange by living in a local home with native speakers. You will gain insight into your host culture, pick up local slang with greater ease, and have a more authentic accent. You’ll have breakfast and dinner with the family, as well as all meals on the weekend. EF host families live in typical residential neighborhoods throughout the city, con-veniently located to public transporation.
EF International Homeshare Benefit from all the features of a homestay while gaining more independence. Home-shares are like mini-student residences, with 5-10 students living in a large home together with a local family.
EF Campus Delve into student life and live onsite, only a few minutes walk from your EF school. You’ll enjoy facilities such as a cafeteria, student lounge, sports complexes, Wi-Fi internet and more. Live-in residential staff are always on-call. We offer EF Campuses in: Oxford and Cambridge Clare College (Cambridge Clare College only summer).
EF Residence Live in the heart of the city alongside EF students and benefit from an international exchange of cultures. You will have easy access to your EF course centre by public trans-port, and you’ll be well-placed to take advantage of your host city’s culture, restaurants, and sports. Residences vary by destination, but often offer WiFi, mealplans, and more.
Enjoy the comfort, convenience and privacy of a full-service hotel. Every EF school offers conveniently located 2-star, 3-star and, in many cases, 4-star hotel options. Whichever you choose, you can expect a range of hotel amenities, including on-site restaurants, fitness facilities, laundry service—even swimming pools. Breakfast is often included, and you will arrange for other meals on your own.
