TIME FOR A NEW ONE: The Dodgers tonight continue their
seven-game road trip (0-1) with the middle contest of a three-game
series against the National League champion New York Mets,
televised nationally on FOX. Last night, Julio Urias made his
Major League debut, but the Dodgers fell, 6-5, on a walk-off home
run, snapping their four-game winning streak. Following Sunday
night’s game on ESPN, the Dodgers fly to Chicago and will play
four games against the first-place Cubs Monday through Thursday.
The Dodgers are 12-12 on the road this season, after
finishing with a 37-44 mark away from home in 2015. Los
Angeles is 12-11 all-time at Citi Field and 9-5 since 2012:

MEN IN THE PEN: The Dodger bullpen has now allowed just

has been plunked this season. Turner is tied with Derek Dietrich
and Danny Espinosa for second in the National League in that
category, trailing only Starling Marte (8). Turner is on pace to
easily match his career high of 13 hit by pitches, established last
year. In case you were wondering, the Los Angeles Dodger record
for HBPs was set by Alex Cora, who was drilled 18 times in 2004.
WORTH NOTING: By defensive efficiency, which measures
turning balls in play into outs, the Dodgers are the second-best NL
team, trailing only the Cubs, with a 72.1% efficiency rating
according to Baseball-Reference.com.
The Dodgers have used 241 defensive shifts this year, the
fifth-fewest among NL teams according to FanGraphs.
JOCULAR: Dodger outfielder Joc Pederson has driven in eight
runs in his last nine games since May 17. Slots are still available for
Pederson’s baseball camp, which will take place Aug. 11. For

THE TOP SPOT: Dodger infielder Chase Utley last night had his
first four-RBI game since July 29, 2014, a game that was also
against the Mets at Citi Field. Utley’s .398 on-base percentage this
month leads the team and his .385 overall OBP ranks 14th
in the
National League.
MAEDA IN NEW YORK: Tonight will be Kenta Maeda’s 10th
start of the season and his Major League career. Maeda has posted a
3.29 ERA and his 1.08 WHIP ranks 14th
in the National League. He
also ranks among the league leaders in opponents’ batting average

hits (27, T-13th
) and homers (T-11th
). Seager leads the Dodgers with
51 hits, 12 doubles, 28 runs scored and 20 extra-base hits.
JUST A HALF DOZEN?: On this date in 2001, catcher Paul Lo
Duca tied a Dodger record by collecting six hits against Colorado
in an 11-inning victory. Lo Duca tied George Cutshaw (1915),
Jack Fournier (1923), John DeBerry (1929), Walter Gilbert
(1931), Cookie Lavagetto (1939) and Willie Davis (1973). Shawn
Green would also tie the record in 2002. Among current Dodgers,
only Adrián González has a six-hit game, doing so for the Padres
on Aug. 11, 2009 in a 13-6 victory over the Brewers in Milwaukee
(6-for-6).
TRAYCE ON THE CASE: Dodger rookie outfielder Trayce

National League and he also ranks among the NL leaders
with a .655 slugging percentage (6th

two of those home runs against the Mets a few weeks ago,
going deep off Steven Matz and Hansel Robles.
According to Stats, LLC, Thompson and Corey Seager
are the first pair of Dodger rookies ever to hit five or more
home runs each in the same month.
SHUT THE DOOR: Kenley Jansen is tied for fifth in the Majors
with 14 saves, while allowing three runs in 20 appearances (1.42
ERA, 3 ER/19.0 IP) and limiting opponents to a .156 batting
