Represent, on a Whole of Victorian Government basis, Victoria’s interest in the Americas through its offices in San Francisco, Chicago and New York
Promote and position Victoria in regards to investment attraction, export development, innovation capability, tourism, education and business and skilled migration.

We need to do more to show that this is not the case.
OEM’s Concerns
One major OEM in the US is reducing their supplier base from approximately 2800 to around 750.
Suppliers will be chosen by; • financial stability • innovation • price• access to supply chains.

There are around 30% of existing global suppliers who another OEM will no longer use due to their
financial susceptibility

GM, Ford and Chrysler to shrink number of vehicle platforms from 40 in 2009 to 29 by 2014.
US Industry Trends
Of these 29 platforms, 14 will be global, which means that they will be produced in North
America and at least one other region, such as Europe, Asia-Pacific or South America, with no
