COMPANIES & SQUADRONS
The FCFM 3 deals with the various Company/Squadron size units available within the USJTF formations
that are not included in the Special Warfare formations. It resections the various styles of Infantry and
Reconnaissance companies. In the Task Force, a company represents one USJTF team.

INFANTRY COMPANY GENERALITIES
Infantry Company
Basically, the Infantry Companies are the hammer of USJTF. Its main role is to engage and destroy enemy
targets using an overwhelming firepower. A USJTF Infantry Company includes a Commanding Officer,
an Executive Officer, a Company Senior NCO, and one or more Strike Sections. Weapon Strike Sections
can be added with a quota of one Weapon Strike Section for two standard Strike Sections.
When the company only has one Strike Section, the Section Leader becomes the Company XO, and the
Assistant Section Leader becomes the Company Senior NCO. In a clearer way, the smaller companies will
be composed of a Strike Section, with eventually a high ranking command, and a company commander
(Captain or Major). In this case, the company may have a maximum of one Weapon Strike Group.
Company Commanding Officer
Rank: Captain – can be a Major if he also is the Battalion Commanding Officer
The Company commander is the team C.O. of their outfit and they encompass the senior member of their
Company that incorporates into the USJTF. The Company commander is responsible for the welfare of
their men, and also responsible for all training and command decisions that are used and implemented
within his Company. The Company commander holds two distinct responsibilities, the first being the
commanding of their troops on the Airsoft field, the second being administration and guidance regarding
all aspects of their team’s operations, and the dissemination of team information in both combat and
garrison. The Company commander is first in the chain of command for his company.
Company Executive Officer
Rank: First Lieutenant – can be a Second Lieutenant if as senior 2LT of the Company
The Company Executive Officer is responsible for the welfare of their men, and also responsible for all
training and command decisions that are used and implemented within his Company. The Company XO
holds two distinct responsibilities, the first being the commanding of their troops on the Airsoft field,
following his CO orders, the second being administration and guidance regarding all aspects of their
team’s operations, and the dissemination of team information in both combat and garrison in order to help
his CO. The Company XO is second in the chain of command for his company.

Company Senior NCO
Rank: Master Sergeant – can be a Sergeant First Class as senior SFC of the Company
The Company Senior NCO is a team’s senior enlisted advisor of their outfit. The Company Senior NCO is
responsible for the welfare of their men and for all training and enforcing command decisions and
standards that are used and implemented within their Company. The Company Senior NCO is the enforcer
of standards and the eyes and ears of the team commander.
The Company Senior NCO observes their troops on the Airsoft field for their morale and welfare,
provides administration and guidance regarding all aspects of their team’s operations, and disseminates
team information in combat and in garrison. The Company Senior NCO works directly with the USJTF
Sergeant Major. The Company Senior NCO is first in the chain of command in the enlisted corps for his
or her company.

INFANTRY COMPANY
Generalities
Size: 21 or more men; A Commanding Officer, an Executive Officer, and one or more Strike Sections.
Eventually, the company may include some Weapon units.
The standard Infantry Company is main combat formation used in the USJTF. In consequences, it implies
that USJTF commanders have to perfectly understand the FCFM 3-1.2 in order to optimize the use of the
Infantry Companies they have under their command. Infantry Companies generally use Strike Sections
Type II (FCFM 1-3.3).
When the company only has one Strike Section, the Section Leader becomes the Company XO, and the
Assistant Section Leader becomes the Company Senior NCO. In a clearer way, the smaller companies will
be composed of a Strike Section, with eventually a high ranking command, and a company commander

RECONNAISSANCE COMPANY GENERALITIES
Reconnaissance Company
If Infantry is the USJTF hammer, Recon is its eye. Its main role is to locate enemy targets using
infiltration and stealth skills. A USJTF Reconnaissance Company includes a Commanding Officer, an
Executive Officer, a Company Senior NCO, and one or more Strike Sections. UAV Strike Sections can be
added with a quota of one UAV Strike Section for two standard Strike Sections.
When the company only has one Strike Section, the Section Leader becomes the Company XO, and the
Assistant Section Leader becomes the Company Senior NCO. In a clearer way, the smaller companies will

RECONNAISSANCE COMPANY
Generalities
Size: 17 or more men; A Commanding Officer, an Executive Officer, and one or more Strike Sections.
Eventually, the company may include some Weapon units.
The standard Reconnaissance Company is an important combat formation used in the USJTF because
these units allow USJTF commanders to get an idea of what is happening on the battlefield. In
consequences, it implies that USJTF commanders have to perfectly understand the FCFM 3-1.2 in order to
optimize the use of the Reconnaissance Companies they have under their command. Reconnaissance
Companies generally use Strike Sections Type I (FCFM 1-3.2).
