VAN MAHOTSAV
4 JULY – 7 JULY
APS, BIKANER observed van mahotsav from 4 to 7 July with great gusto.
Brig. Bhim Raj K. Bhalsing initiated the tree plantation drive by planting a
sapling in the school campus. Almost one hundred twenty saplings were
planted by the staff and the students with the pledge to nurture them.
SUMMER CAMP 15 May – 30 June
Sports coaching was organized at APS during summer vacation for students. More
than 150 students attended the camp with zeal. They were coached by
professionals in Basketball, Cricket, Badminton and Table tennis.

INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION
25 July & 27 July
Army Public School, Bikaner organized Inter-House Hindi and English Debate
Competitions on 25 jul 2018 and 27 jul 2018 respectively. Participants came up
with surprising arguments, shocking facts and individual suggestions in favour and
against the motion and supported them with suitable examples from real life, to
justify their stand. It was an enriching and learning experience for the young
debaters and the audience to listen to the arguments put forth by all the participants.
INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION
Independence Day was celebrated at APS Bikaner on August 15. The Principal
welcomed the gathering. Brigadier Bhimraj K Bhal Sing, Chairman APS, Bikaner
was the chief guest. The tricolour flag was unfurled and all in unison sang the
National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. Various cultural
programmes including dances and songs, were presented and Patriotic fervour
marked the Independence Day celebrations.
Investiture Ceremony for the Academic year 2018-19 was also held in the school on
15th Aug 2018. The event was presided over by the Chairman.The members of the
Students’ council were conferred with badges and sashes by the Honourable Chief
Guest. The students’ council pledged to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth
and Honour in high esteem.

They were addressed by the chairman who made clear their duties and
responsibilities as the torch bearers of the school. He congratulated them and
admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also
exhorted them to uphold the values. The Principal also appreciated and
congratulated them. She advised them to be role models and extended a supporting
hand to the students’ council for the smooth running of the school.
Activities Conducted in the Month of September
Events & Activities
1. Teacher’s Day : Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on 5th of
September to honor and acknowledge the contribution made by countless
teachers in helping and molding the careers of students and in turn shaping
the destiny of India. Keeping this in mind, the students of Army Public School
Bikaner, organized a grand Teachers’ Day celebration for their teachers. The
students dedicated beautiful cultural performances to their teachers and it was
hugely appreciated by one and all.
2. Activities at Primary Level : Plethora of activities were conducted for
Primary section which included Lemon & Spoon Race, Kho Kho, Story
Telling Competition & Spell Bee .
3. Terre Green Olympiad : Students of classes VI to XI participated in an
online Quiz which was organized by “Terre Green Olympiad”.
4. Inter School Quiz : APS Bikaner always encourages students to participate in
all the activities which play an important role in honing their thinking &
analytical skills. Keeping this in mind students of classes VI to IX were
encouraged to participate in an Inter School Quiz organized by ‘Bharat Vikas
Parishad’.
5. Abacus Olympiad : Ananya Solanki of class VIII made school proud by
bagging 1st position in Level 4.
6. Drawing Competition : In order to promote Energy Conservation in the
country, ‘Power Grid Co-operation of India Limited organized a Drawing
Competition wherein 600 students participated.
7. Spell Bee: APS Bikaner constantly strives to enrich and enhance the
vocabulary of its students . Inter House Spell Bee Competition was conducted
for students of classes VI to XII. The children participated enthusiastically .
8. Cleanliness Campaign : . Inspired by the students in Japan, where they clean
the toilets and filth in their city, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the
Swachh Bharat- Swachh Vidyalaya drive recently. Taking this initiative a step
ahead, students of APS Bikaner have taken the initiative beyond classrooms.
The Campaign was organised by APS, Senior Wing under the Supervision of
Mr Azaz Nabi Khan & other school staff members. NCC cadets and the
participants of this campaign spread awareness among the people of Bikaner
city about hygiene and sanitation related activities .
9. Sports : District Level Tournaments for various sports activities were
conducted from 1st to 9th September 2018. Children of APS Bikaner always
set their best foot forward in grabbing opportunities in sports and once again
they made us proud by bagging the first positions in Badminton U-17 (Girls),
Football U-19 (Boys), Basket Ball U-14 (Boys).
The Badminton Players Jyoti & Shefali of class XI bagged 1st Positions.
The Table Tennis Player Parinita of class IX bagged 1st Position.
10. State Level Tournaments : APS Football Team bagged 3rd position
and held the school flag high by participating in the State Level football
tournament in U-19 category.

Academics
a) Exams : Half Yearly Exams started from 26 Sep 2018 for classes VI to XII and
from 01 Oct 2018 for classes I to V.
b) English Olympiad : To assess the competency and proficiency of the students in
the field of English language, an English Olympiad was conducted on 23Oct 2018
for classes 1 to XII. Eighty Four students participated.
c)Quiz : ‘Bharat ko Jano’ Quiz Competition was organized by Bharat Vikash
Parishad "Mira" Blkaner on 02 Oct 2018 where our students bagged various
positions :

a} Athletic meet:
i) 60th District Athletic Meet Under - 14 was held at Adarsh Vidya Mandir Shri
Ganganagar from 03 Oct to 06 Oct 2018. 06 Girls and 05 boys participated in the
event.
ii) 63rd District Athletic Meet Under- 17 Girls was held at Adarsh Vidya Mandir,
Shri Ganganagar from 02 Oct to 04 Oct 2018. 04 Girls participated in the event.
iii)Dimple Kanwar participated in shot-put discuss throw at Government School
Banswara from20 to 25 Oct 2018.
iv)Suryavansh Singh Rathore participated in 100 m, 200 m, 4x100 Relay at
Bhratpur from 20 to 25 Oct 2018.
v) Under -15 boys football team participated In Khelo India competition at
Pushkarna Stadium at Bikaner from 25 to 30Oct 2018.
b)Badminton Tournament:
i)Gracy of class IV C won runner up In Bikaner Open District Badminton
Tournament. Badminton in under -13 held at Pushkarna stadium. She was declared
winner in Under-10 category.
ii) Nandini from Class V C won III Prize in open district skating tournament held at
Sadul Club.
iv) PRR-RDC-2018: 2 JD and 1 JW Cadets participated in PRE-RDC 2018 at
Jodhpur from 02 to 11 Oct 2018.
v) NCC: PRE-RDC held at Jodhpur from 14 Oct to 23 Oct 2018 at 7 Raj Bn NCC.

3) Enrichment Programme :
a)Sexual Harassment : To sensitize & create awareness session on Sexual
Harassment "Women at Work place” was conducted by Mrs Dadheech (PGT
English)for ladies and male staff on 11 Oct 18.
b)Stress Management and Personality Development : To help students of class X &
XII to deal with stress, a session on Sahaja Yoga Meditation was conducted by Dr.
Niteen Patil and Mr. Nitin Jindal on 23 Oct 2018 . It was an enriching session,
guiding students how to work on their personality development and giving them
insight into meditation.
ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2018
1. ACADEMICS
a) PTM: A PTM was held on 03 Nov 2018 for classes I to XII. Marks of half yearly were shown to the parents and performance of their ward was discussed. b) Extra class: To pay individual attention and to brush students for
performing well in their upcoming test, extra classes are being conducted
for VI to XII.
2. SPORTS
a) Inter House Cricket Match: The importance of sports encompasses more than just the
benefit of physical activity. It helps in enhancing self esteem and mental alertness
among students. Also, it teaches punctuality, discipline and teamwork. Keeping this in
mind an Inter house cricket match was held for classes IV and V on 02 Nov 2018. All
decked up to prove their mettle. While the winners were cheered, the efforts of the
runners up were equally appreciated. All the teams presented an impressive show.
3. CELEBRATION
a) Children’s day: Children’s day was celebrated on 14 Nov 2018 in the school premises.
The teachers took charge of the students’ roles by conducting the Assembly which
included the morning prayer and an inspiring thought.The teachers also decided to wear
the performer’s hat and prepared cultural programme for the children. It started with
cultural programme and different fun games. All the children were given sweets. There
was relay race for class VI to X students and volleyball match between male staff versus
boys and female staff versus girls. Children’s day was celebrated with great delight.
b) Diwali celebration: A Special Assembly on Diwali was conducted on
02 November 2018 by the students. The children confidently explained the significance of
Diwali along with the Do’s and Don’ts of this festival. The joy and celebration of the festival
was enhanced by a melodious song which was enjoyed by everyone present. The assembly
concluded with the National Anthem.
4. MISCELLANEOUS
a) Vigilance Awareness Week: Vigilance awareness week is an initiative carried out by the
Government of India. It is the need of the hour and is observed every year to encourage
everyone to fight against corruption and to raise awareness regarding the existence,
causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption. Integrity should be the part
and parcel of life. In connect with this, Vigilance awareness week was observed from 29
Oct to 3 Nov 2018 with the theme “Eradicate Corruption- Build a new nation”. Various
activities were carried out in the school to make the initiative successful. Details of the

b) National Education Day: Central government vide its resolution dated 11 Sep 2018 has
declared 11 Nov the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, great freedom
fighter, eminent educationist and the first Union Minister of Education, as National
Education Day. To commemorate National Education Day, we organized various
activities from 12 Nov to 17 Nov 2018 to focus on the importance of education and the
Nation’s Commitment to all aspects of education. Details of activities are as follows:

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATIONS AT ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL, BIKANER
APS Bikaner celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 27th Dec 2018 at school grounds with great zeal and fervor. All
students especially the participants were really excited about the event.
Brigadier Sunil Sharma, Chairman APS Bikaner, was the Chief Guest and Mrs Vindu Nanda, President FWO, 24 Infantry
Division was the Guest of Honour. The celebrations began with a march past by all the four houses Ashoka, Rana Pratap,
Shivaji and Subhash. A spectacular, impressive, and a well synchronized March Past by the four Houses rendered the
spectators speechless. Thereafter, the Chief Guest administered oath to the participants.
In her welcome address, The Principal of the school Mrs Neena Singh welcomed the guests and gathering formally and
presented a brief report of the school’s sports activities and highlighted the students’ outstanding achievements of the
session 2017-2018. She also highlighted the importance of games and sports in student’s life and said that APS Bikaner is
providing all kinds of facilities for its students to groom their personality. She further advised students to make use of all
the available resources to show case their talents.
The event filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The Musical PT, Aerobics and
Zumba by primary students, Fusion dance and the other cultural items remained as the main attraction of the mega
event.
This was followed by the track events including races by the Primary Wing, Obstacle and 100 mts. Sprint for boys and
girls of Middle & Senior wing as well as 4×100 mts. Relay Races for both boys and girls of the Senior Wing were held.
The Chief Guest gave away the medals to the winners and in his address said that APS is growing by leaps and bounds.
Its an ever growing organization and is providing quality school education. APS gives lot of impetus to the sports events.
It is the Mission and Vision of APS to encourage students for their all-round development and it further envisions to
provide the best facilities in APS premises in the days to come. He advised students to excel in academics at par with
games and sports.
The most awaited moment of the show was the announcement for the House Trophy Winner. All the students cheered
for the respective houses, which eventually belonged to Rana Pratap House.
Mrs Sunita Dadhich, Sr.Coordinator, APS, Bikaner presented vote of thanks. More than thousand students have taken
part in different events in the mega event of Sports Day. School thanked everyone who contributed their services either
directly or indirectly for the grand success of the mega event. Sports day ended with National Anthem.
