School Advisory Committee
Needed: 3 new parent members and 3 new teacher members
What is a School Advisory Committee (SAC)? A SAC is a forum for communicating recommendations, concerns or advice to the principal on
educational matters.
Is the SAC a school board?
Even though the SAC does have a significant impact on improving school programs, it is not a
school board. It is an advisory committee.
What types of issues can a SAC address?
Review school policy and advise principals on curricula and budget issues.
Recommend solutions to a problem.
Determine feasibility of implementing new programs.
Use opinion polls to help develop proposals.
Keep the community aware of plans and programs initiated at the school. Hold forums on particular topics and invite community members to present views.
When are the elections and when are the meetings?
Elections will be held before the first SAC meeting in October
Elected members serve 2 years, so should have a DEROS of June 2019 or later.

holiday in Germany. It is the only official national holiday. All other holidays are managed at a federal
level. The reunification of Germany took place on 3 October 1990, when the former German Democratic
Republic (GDR) was incorporated into the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG).
October 31: Day of Reformation: 500 Years since Martin Luther (1483-1546) strode up to the church in Wittenburg and nailed his 95 'theses' (or propositions) to the church door. November 1: All Saints Day: Is celebrated as a holiday in the following German States; Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Pflaz, Saarland College and Career Workshop Hosted by the KMC School Liaisons! October 17 1800 – 1900 at the Vogelweh Community Center
This workshop will give students information and resources on the overall college application process. Guest speakers include Army and Air Force Education Representatives. Please see the flyer below

It’s Popcorn Time!
The Vogelweh PTSA is ‘popping’ with excitement for Popcorn Day! Students who
