What's New & Happening: April Showers...
Bring May Flowers! We've got a whole lot going on at Intterra growing SA into the mostuseful set of tools for our clients.
Our GIS Lead Emily Carpenter has been working tirelessly on several fronts:expanding, refining, and migrating systems to SA's new Wildfire Preplans (WPP) andnew Structure Preplans (SPP). Emily's also been doing a lot of thinking about a freshapproach to hydrants all while accomplishing other key tasks like setting up newclient accounts and managing client configuration.
Planning
The past few months, we've been saying that we want your feedback, and so weformed our first user group and focused on improving Wildfire Preplans. Thanks to lotsof good advice and suggestions, the new SA WPP Editing tool is now in place andbeing used by our wildfire clients.
Also, our biggest users of Structure Preplans in SA advised us on improving thosemap features and associated details. Here's the scoop on SA's new SPP map
features. We are already hearing cheers from our metro clients.
Fire Enterprise Geospatial Portal (Fire EGP)
We are working on a lot of new features for the EGP. Under a new 5year contract,we are working with two partner companies DSoft and NT Concepts to expand theNational Interagency Fire EGP. 2017 will see improvements in EGP capacity, acomprehensive update to incident mapping, and integration of additional remotesensing systems. Stay tuned for more news when the work is accomplished and theyare ready to make announcements.
Spring SA System Health Checks
For our accounts where wildfires are likely, we typically conduct SA Wildfire systemhealth checks to make sure what our clients need is in the system and is ready to rollfor preseason training. And we've learned, some areas like the state of Arizona must be ready yearround!
What's Cool: Intterra Webinar Featuring Oroville Dam
Last week, Captain Chris Ingram of the Santa Clara CountyFire Department shared Lessons Learned from respondingto the Oroville (CA) Dam Incident and also from coordinatingresources at Super Bowl 50 in a recent "Crisis & SpecialEvents in Action" webinar. The full recording and othermaterials from the webinar are available on our website.

Last week, Intterra's account manager andWildland Fire Operations Chief Jim Wolf was on site for the preconference SAMontana User Group Meeting and Training Session to help guide their training andaddress questions.
