Kenya: Inter-Communal Conflict in Wajir and Mandera Counties Update (as of 23 June 2014)
OverviewInter-communal conflict between the Garre and Degodia clans has left over 60 people dead and more than 75,000 people displaced in Wajir and Mandera counties and has indirectly affected an additional 60,000 people in Wajir County since May 2014. 50 houses have been burnt in Wajir County.
County Governments of Wajir and Mandera are working with Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) and other humanitarian partners to deliver assistance to those displaced and affected by the clashes.

Response
• 295,000 people already targeted under the WFP PRRO are receiving assistance in Wajir and Mandera Counties.
• Additional food assistance has been provided by the County Governments of Wajir and Mandera to the affected families but more is needed.
