Explore the centre Be transported through Queensland’s beautiful national
parks from a panoramic virtual lookout, or come face-to-face
with fascinating creatures at a ranger-led Wildlife Discovery
Show. Visit the Wildlife Centre showcasing wildlife of
national parks, where the world’s most intriguing mammal—
the platypus—steals the show diving for crayfish and worms
in the Gondwana-inspired rock pool. Relax with a picnic
under the trees, or head to the Green Tree Frog Café for lunch
(open 10am to 2pm Monday–Friday, and 9am to 4pm on
weekends). The Information Centre and Wildlife Centre
are open from 9am to 4.30pm every day, excluding some
public holidays.
Ride adventurously Ignite your sense of adventure as you ride horses and
mountain bikes through a winding network of shared trails.
Cyclists can also enjoy exploring the management roads
leading to more remote sections of the park. Check out
these recommendations from the rangers:
Perfect for horseriding, start a 22km return steep gully ride
at Black Soil Road, between Camp Mountain 3 and Jollys
Lookout 4. Turn right onto South Boundary Road and
travel through dappled eucalypt woodland along Creek
and Augies roads to Mount Nebo Road, at Bullockys Knob.
Cyclists can enjoy a longer flowing ride along South
Boundary Road, starting at Payne Road near Enoggera
Reservoir in The Gap and climbing up to the cool rainforest
township of Mount Nebo to enjoy a refreshing drink at one
of the local cafes (44km return).

• The maximum speed limit on all forest drives is 40km/hr.
Keen to explore off the beaten track?
Rangers recommend you purchase a detailed topographic map from Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre 1 to avoid getting lost.
(open 10am to 2pm Monday–Friday, and 9am to 4pm on
weekends). The Information Centre and Wildlife Centre
are open from 9am to 4.30pm every day, excluding some
public holidays.
Lookout 4 .

Paddle peacefully or play on the beach at Enoggera
Reservoir—keep watch for kingfishers perched on branches above the water’s edge and freshwater turtle eggs laid in the sand!
The vast skies capping this mountainous wilderness offer a panoramic backdrop for
birdwatching. Grey goshawks freefall into the valley; sulphur- crested cockatoos (above left) rise together as white clouds.

If you’ve never witnessed frogs in the
wild, Bullockys Knob at twilight is the
place to hear a spectacular vocal display
from these amphibious troubadours.
Striped marsh frogs, tusked frogs and
graceful tree frogs are just some of
many you’ll hear in chorus.
Ranger Diana
Westridge outlook has these dramatic
rocky boulders and a breathtaking view—
the perfect place to catch a bit of quiet.
Ranger Jason
Maiala is definitely the jewel in D’Aguilar’s
crown—rainforest, waterfalls and an amazing
picnic area. If there was one place to take my
friends and family, this would be it.
Ranger Jay
Safe travels • There is no direct vehicle access between North and
South D’Aguilar sections.
• For longer walks, rides or drives, let somebody know
where you are going, when you plan to return and
what to do if you’re late or lost.
• In case of bushfires, stay away from thick bushland
and stay low to the ground where the air is coolest.
In an emergency call Triple Zero (000) or 106 if
speech or hearing impaired.
• Never dive or jump into water as dangerous
submerged objects can be hard to see.
• All trails and roads in D’Aguilar National Park are
longer than they appear on this map.
• Be aware that the western aspect of the park
increases exposure to the elements.
The essential pack list • Mobile phone—keep in mind that reception may
be poor in places.
• First-aid kit—you never know when you might need it.
• Strong plastic bags or containers to remove your
rubbish. There are no bins in the park.
• Untreated, clean milled firewood for wood barbecues
as firewood cannot be collected from the park.
• Drinking water or sterilisation tablets—safe drinking
water is not provided at all sites in the park.
This park is so diverse and so large that you can
feel like you’re the only person in the world here,
even though the city is just next door.
