The bride’s tips
Ryan and Teniel Wark on their wedding dayPicture: ID PHOTOGRAPHY
TENNIEL and Ryan Wark were mar-ried earlier this year.
Tenniel shared some of theirexperiences of the day and thoseleading up to the big day withCentralian Advocate journalist CoreySinclair.
What day did you get married?
We got married on March 31,which was a Saturday.
Where did he propose?
He proposed at the speedway.
His uncle has a memorialgrandstand there.
Ryan told me he had to go outand do a job there, so we wentout and he asked me to marryhim.
How long were you engaged?
Good question, I think it was ayear — or a bit longer.
How did you find preparingthe wedding?
It wasn’t too bad. Usually yougo to your mum whereas mymum has never been married soI’d ask her and she’d be like ‘‘Idon’t know’’. But I just got heapsof magazines and looked at theinternet.
Where did you buy your wed-ding stuff?
We g o t my dress andaccessories, veil and a braceletfrom Bliss, and we bought thesuits from Rusty Zipper.
What did you do for yourhen’s/buck’s night?
My hen’s night was at Ryan’smum’s place, and we just hadfood and played silly games andthen went into town. We had agreat night.
Ryan started at the pub hav-ing drinks with the blokes andended up breaking his elbow —three days before the wedding.
Did you have any hiccups onthe day?
On the day, Ryan had to gethis cast cut off in the morning sohe could wear the suit.
And we went to take photos onthe Finke track, but got a flattyre on the way back into town.
Where was the wedding held?
The ceremony was held at theOld Telegraph Station, and the
reception was at the CrownePlaza.
What did you do the night
before the wedding?
My mother, my bridal partyand I spent the night at theCrowne Plaza.
What traditions did you em-brace?
I did the something old, some-thing blue one — and we spentthe night before apart.
How much did it cost? The wedding cost about
$25,000.
