WHAT A WEEKEND!
Today we are wrapping up our annual Disciple Now weekend and celebrating all that God
has done in the lives of our students, host families, co-leaders and guest leaders this weekend. If you see someone walking around in one of the blue DNOW shirts, be sure to
ask them what God has done in their lives over the course of the last couple of days.
If you aren’t sure what DNOW is, it is a weekend where our students gathered together in
smaller groups to be challenged and encouraged in their walks with Christ through Bible
study, worship, service, and fun. Even though our students experience a great deal of
spiritual encouragement during DNOW, please know that it really is a church wide event in
many ways. With that in mind, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the following
groups of people. Thank you to...
The host families who opened their homes to teenagers for the whole weekend.
The co-leaders who gave up their weekends to love and encourage our students.
The guest leaders who also gave up their weekends because of their love for Christ
and their desire to see students live more passionately for Jesus.
The Building and Grounds Committee and Dwayne Weaver who assisted with our
service project.
Our FBC Plano Worship Band who lead our students in powerful times of worship.
Lastly, I would like to thank YOU for your prayer and support of the weekend.
Whether you prayed before or during the weekend for Christ to change lives, provided a
scholarship to help a student attend DNOW, or just simply offered a word of
encouragement this morning to our students. It is the immense love and grace that FBC
Plano constantly pours out on our student ministry that continues to speak truth, love,
encouragement, and joy to our students as they seek to walk in the light of Christ. This
weekend is the start of something big as we take the words of Psalm 96:3 seriously and
“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!”
