• $2.50 per lunch• $.50 for drink only• You may send in cash or

name on checks• Stamped hand means
you are running low on money.
Birthdays
I will recognize your child’s birthday in class.
Please do not send in birthday treats. No cakes, cupcakes, etc.

We all make mistakes. It’s how we pick ourselves up after we fall that helps define who we are .
Grades The grading system is based on written work (including
assignments, quizzes, and tests) teacher observations, informal assessments, projects, and class participation. Grades are given on a point system, and based on the following percentages:
90-100%A80-89% B70-79% C60-69% D0-59% F
I do not “give” students grades.
They “earn” them.

Projects/Assignments• Almost always give
a printed direction sheet. (Email attachment)
• Usually it includes how the project will be graded.
• Use the grading rubric/checklist to check the finished project.
• I often show/read examples in class.
At-Home Projects• Quarterly Book Reports and Literature
Celebrations (begins in 2nd Quarter)• Class work that does not get completed
at school.• Reading Log: 80 minutes per week due
at the end of each week signed by you. 20 minutes per night.
• Daily homework (spelling, math, grammar, etc.)
Arizona Weekly Studies • We use Arizona Weekly Studies magazine as a way to
teach Arizona culture, geography etc…• Every child should have their own copy.• If you are able to donate $7.00 for your child or if
you would like to make an extra donation for another student, I would be so appreciative. Please return the form on your desk.
