Winter Newsletter
Happy New Year!
As a golfer, it is always nice to see the grass in WNY in January. Lately, other than thinking about
playing golf again, I have found myself looking at the 15 day forecast to see when the weather might
turn for the worse. I can’t promise that we will not get any snow this winter but you can look out to
nearly the end of January and things are looking quite promising.
The LCC Board of Directors works very hard on behalf of the members. With the club’s fiscal year
ending Feb. 28th, January is the time of year where we begin budgeting for the upcoming year. 2019
again proved to be a difficult year for the club. We are always working to find more members and
book additional outside events which helps to subsidize what we need to ask members to pay. Over
the past 2 years we have had success in bringing in new membership but did have a slightly higher
resignation rate than we would have liked in December. During 2019, outside banquet business was
lower than we would have liked but I am happy to say that through the tremendous work of Paige
Snyder, the 2020 banquet business is tracking well above where we were in 2019.
It is very important that we continue to bring in new membership to the club. I would like to challenge
every member to provide Ray with 1 or 2 membership referrals this year. We have some great new
membership programs available and the referring member gets great benefits too.
Just because it is not golf season, the club is still open. Ray and his staff have been adding specialty
themed dinners, brunches & date nights to the calendar. Thursday nights are a great night for happy
hour. Please watch Clubster & email for these updates. The golf simulator is open too. Don’t forget
that you can use it as a driving range, playing holes or even contact Mike Dziabo to take a lesson.
LCC is a member owned club and I say this in nearly every newsletter. Your thoughts matter! Please
share your ideas with me and let me know what we are doing right and where you think things can be
improved. The board is always working to make improvements but sometimes hearing an idea from
another member triggers the next big change we can make.
Best Wishes,
David C. Wagner

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Lancaster Members:
I hope that the Holiday Season and start to 2020 has been great for you and your family. Over the past 30 days the Club has hosted various parties, theme nights and of course Buffalo Bills game day specials. We will continue to promote more of these type of events throughout the rest of the winter. The team is very excited for the introduction of “Thursday Fun Nights”. Each Thursday you are invited to enjoy corn hole, darts, and complimentary simulator along with a wide variety of drink specials. We are attempting to re-create that night out similar to both the Men’s and Women’s league nights in the summer. Also, be on the look out for our monthly family activities (mother nature depending) and date nights. Lastly, I want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Dave Miller for their continuous efforts in making the Santa Brunch a huge success. All the 160 attendees enjoyed the animal show, arts, crafts and of course presents from Santa.
Jason Allen and John Kellner will be launching their new menu on January 9, 2020. It is a menu that is designed for you to be able to create your own personalized meal each time you visit the Club. You chose your protein and two sides. All entrees come with salad or soup. We are eager to get your feedback so I encourage you to fill out the comment card at the end of your meal so we can continue to improve. Another new venture will be a monthly Sunday Brunch to be held from 11am to 3pm. The first one is scheduled for January 12, 2020. Reservations are much appreciated. The Grille Room will not be open for lunch or dinner on Brunch days.
Lastly, as we start to near the Spring please start thinking about potential membership leads. Although we are still slightly ahead of our dues line as compared to this time last year it is imperative that we replace as many resigned members as possible. It is not too early to bring a potential member out for dinner, play a round in the simulator or enjoy a drink at the bar. Your help is always appreciated.
See you soon.

A Message from the Golf Chair – Len Cislo
Happy New Year. 2020 will bring more changes to golf. The new World
Handicap System (WHS) brings many changes like daily handicap
updates, maximum net double bogie and course rating updates to name
a few. I will send out information as I did last year to ensure everyone is
educated on all the new handicap regulations. In the meantime, I
encourage everyone to visit the USGA website and look over the WHS
content.
In addition to the WHS role out the Golf and Handicap Committees are
hard at work planning the 2020 golf season. Hoping for an early start to
the golf season. Enjoy the rest of the winter.
Reminder to all the members away from the area, you are required to
post all rounds played in active golf areas.
Womens’s Association News
Mary Ellen Puleri, President
With the New Year upon us, I am personally very excited about the prospect of a "fresh start" that this New Year brings. It symbolizes a time for personal reflection and resolutions as we strive to become better individuals.
A few things have transpired within the Women’s Association since the Fall newsletter. The new board positions for the 2019-2020 are as follows:
Mary Ellen Puleri – President
Ellen Parker-Lines – Vice President
Nancy Reukauf – Treasurer
Maria Kunkemoeller– Secretary
Kathy Simme & Lori Stilwell – Golf Chairs
Donna Orlando-Martin – House
Thanks to Mickey, Andrea and Kathy J for another successful ornament exchange party last month. The evening moved quickly as we passed ornaments to a rendition of “Twas the Night Before Christmas at LCC”. I don’t know about you, but every year as I decorate my tree, I remember which ornament I received at the exchange and am grateful to be part of the LCC experience.
We are continuing to plan our upcoming season as the calendar has been set. The golf co-chairs will be reaching out to those who have host responsibilities as winners of last year’s events and offer guidelines to help them organize. We would also like to initiate an ambassador committee within the Women’s Association to introduce new association members to the Club and all it has to offer. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in implementing this program. Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested.
If you haven’t been to the club for drinks, dinner, game nights, or to try out the golf simulator, you are missing out on some good times. Give your friends a call and break up the monotony of our WNY winters by getting together at the club.
Please continue to read the newsletter to stay current on what is taking place at the club. You won’t want to miss out on a thing!
Sandi Treadway – Dining Room Manager
We would like to welcome Sandi Treadway as the new dining room manager. Sandi has
been with the club since June of 2019, and brings 28 years of restaurant experience with
her. She is Certified Mixologist and was a corporate trainer for bar, service and host for
Applebee’s for 25 years, before joining us. Her daughter Samantha is also part of our staff.
“I am truly honored to be given this opportunity to be part of the management team here
at LCC. It has been a pleasure to meet most of the members’ and I’m looking forward to
meeting those of you I haven’t met. I will be working closely with the kitchen and service
staff to help provide a delicious and pleasant dining experience. I will strive to do the best
I can so that you make this amazing club your first choice when planning to go for lunch or
dinner. I look forward to any and all suggestions you may have to continually improve our
service to you.
