How to favorite your WordPress plugins
• Register at wordpress.org
• Look for plugins in the repository and look for a little heart in the lower right and click on it. Now it’s saved and you can view it at http://profiles.wordpress.org/yourname
• OR when you’re logged into your dashboard, click on the ‘Favorites’ from the Plugins Add New menu, type in your user name (or anyone else’s) and find your favorites there
Widget Context Plugin
• Removes the entire sidebar (or specific widgets) from a sidebar on specific pages
• Let’s take a look at how it works
Custom Google SearchThe Google Search box in the plugin repository is…well…pretty sorry!
You can sign up and Google will generate code for your site(s)
http://support.google.com/customsearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2630969
1.Click on the ‘Custom Search home page’
2.Sign in to your Google account and click ‘Add’ search engine
3.Fill in the url of your site, you can choose to have it search on just one page (/blog), or specific pages or the entire site.
4.Click the ‘Get code’ to get your personalized code and copy and paste it in your site. I pasted mine in a text widget and added it to a sidebar
Let’s Log in and Try it!
